This collection contains issues of the Pirate's Treasure Newsletter issued by the Special Collections Department.

Papers of Andre Dubus (1967-1984, undated) documenting the literary career of the noted Lake Charles, Louisiana-born American novelist and essayist, consisting mainly of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection including correspondence, photographic prints, notes, advertising postcards, dust jackets, broadsides, and clippings of reviews, by or about Andre Dubus, Richard Ghormley Eberhart, and others; also a corrected page proof of his short story Land Where My Fathers Died (1984).

This collection contains copies of ECU Magazine, which features information on East Carolina alumni and their accomplishments.

The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.

Papers (1912-1965, undated) consisting of correspondence, diaries of missionary activities, letters, Genealogical information.

This collection (1850-1988) includes records pertaining to Whitaker's Chapel, a Methodist Church near Enfield in Northeastern North Carolina, and minutes (1848-1939) of the Methodist Protestant Church's Roanoke Circuit to which it belonged.

Papers of Erskine Caldwell (1932-1982), documenting the life and literary career of the noted Coweta County, Georgia-born, American novelist of the rural poor in the American South; consisting primarily of his correspondence with Robert Cantwell; also Paul C. Richards, Autographs' description of the letters and Stuart Wright's correspondence with Paul C. Richards, Autographs relating to purchase of the letters.

Papers (1893-1973) including of correspondence, notebooks, pamphlets, books, photographs, newsletters, family letters, photographs, slides, maps.

Papers (1926-2003) covering the schooling and naval service of U. S. naval officer, USNA class of 1931, Captain James H. Brown, including correspondence, reports, publications, clippings, and photographs. Extensive material pertains to his service during World War II aboard the USS SHAW (1940-1942), USS ABNER READ (1942-1944), and the USS AMMEN (1944-1945), as well as his service before and after World War II.

Papers of Flannery O'Connor (1962-1984, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Savannah, Georgia-born American short story writer & novelist in the Southern Gothic style, consisting of a broadside entitled Higher Education [Poem] by Mary Flannery O'Connor. Palaemon Broadside No. 16 (Palaemon Press, Ltd., undated); also mimeographed, photocopied typescripts, clippings, letters, and an audio recording of Some Aspects of the Grotesque in Southern Fiction, a speech given by Flannery O'Connor in 1960.

Collection (1778-1974) of papers pertaining to the Jones Family of Gum Neck, Tyrrell County, North Carolina, including deeds and other land records, business and estate records in Tyrrell County and Pasquotank County, relating primarily to Bartlett Jones, C. B. Jones, Carney Jones, W. S. Jones, T. David Jones, Timothy Jones, Sr.; and including clippings, correspondence, photographic prints, and printed materials, relating to Bartlett Braxton Jones, of Elizabeth City, NC, who served as an attorney in the Justice Department, Washington, DC, a National officer of the Society of the Cincinnati, and his wife Helen Bryan Chamberlain Jones, of Kinston, NC, who were both active in Democratic Party politics and social activities.
