This collection includes records related to the Croom Family especially the annual Croom Family Reunion held at the Croom Meeting House at Sandy Bottom Community on Highway 55 West in Lenoir County, North Carolina. Included are a 1930 photograph of the first Croom Family Reunion, programs, attendance sheets, minutes, obituaries, updated family charts, articles about the Reunion, and tombstone listings.

Papers (1885-1930, undated) including correspondence, financial papers, clippings, photographs, pamphlets, newspapers, a letterpress book, etc., relating to Fechtig's role as purchasing agent for the Washington, Ohio and Western Railroad Company and other companies.

Papers (1936-1992) including correspondence, photographs awards and certificates, orders, receipts, citations, certificate of appointment, etc.

The collection includes correspondence, printed materials, photographs, grade reports, teaching certificates and testimonials, legal documents and newspaper clippings which document the life (1891-1975) of Lenoir County, North Carolina, school teacher Julia Catherine McDaniel including her education at Hollins Institute in Virginia and her teaching career (1912-1960) in Burlington, Bethel, and Lenoir County, N.C., schools. The collection also touches on the lives of her friends, classmates, colleagues, and students and includes materials concerning the McDaniel, Harvey, Linton and related families of Kinston and Eastern North Carolina.

Papers, certificates, photos, and artifacts of Dr. Edwin Wall Monroe. This collection contains a great deal of information regarding the development of the East Carolina School of Medicine, including planning, politics, legislation, advertisement, construction, partnerships, details of the personnel involved, groundbreakings and other ceremonies, departments, additional buildings, and community services.

This collection (2001-2008) has printed material, minutes, correspondence, ephemera and other documents donated by Dr. Keats Sparrow who participated as a member of the North Carolina First Flight Commission and its Education Committee during the 100th Anniversary celebration of the First Flight. The collection also contains a 2003 commemorative booklet "First Flight Visions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight," information from the International Commission's 2001 Flight Symposium about the Wright Brothers, photographs, clippings, and brochures. Other items are a travel mug, automobile license plate, pins, shoulder patches and commemorative items.

The collection contains the secretary/treasurer papers of the North Carolina Surgical Association. Files include correspondence, financial statements, meeting planning, programs, rosters, and photographs.

The bulk of the collection (1841-1979) contains genealogical information about the Hollinger, Greenawalt, Little, and Iseminger families of Maryland and Pennsylvania. Other items include a journal (1855-1959) kept by three generations of the Little family, two very descriptive large paper broadsides announcing public sales of estates in Lemaster, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania (1907), and Upton, Pennsylvania (1904), World War I military Selective Service registration cards, correspondence, clippings, copies of recipe books, and financial records.

This collection contains material (1831, ca. 1910-2010) related to the Edgerton, Cox, and Pearson families who were Quaker families in the Nahunta Community in Wayne County, N.C.; Dow and Brownell families of Clovis, New Mexico, and Massachusetts; Civilian Public Service work during World War II; and the Massey family of Dudley, Wayne County, N.C., including correspondence, photographs, land deeds and publications.

Papers of Richard Herman McLawhorn, Jr. (1923-1987) of Ayden Township, Pitt County, North Carolina that are related to his childhood and his service during World War II as a bombardier on the bomber "Tail Heavy" with the U.S. Army Air Corps 485th Bomb Group.
