Papers of Mark Morrow (1981-1998, [Bulk: 1981-1986]) documenting the life and career of the Greer, South Carolina-raised American journalist, editor, photographer, and essayist; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volume entitled Images of the Southern Writer: Photographs (1981-1998), by Mark Morrow, including 17 letters, postcards and bills sent from Morrow to Stuart Wright regarding photographic orders, 1981-1986; also a letter from George Garrett to Stuart Wright enclosing a copy of Morrow's book, 1998.

It includes biographical and informational data concerning politicians, lawyers and other important New Bern figures, as well as descriptions of life in New Bern and historical incidents of the period. This collection (1823-1999) contains the papers of Robert "Bob" Boyd Robinson III. Robinson, born in 1948 in Halifax County, N.C., was a member of various groups including the Sons of the Revolution in the State of North Carolina. His papers include materials related to various families of Northeastern North Carolina and Southeastern Virginia.

This collection contains a journal (November 21, 1894 – February 28, 1896) kept by Gilbert Smith Galbraith while he was serving as a U.S. Naval Cadet on board the USS Columbia. The USS Columbia was a Second Line Cruiser first commissioned on April 23, 1894, serving in the U.S. Navy until it was sold for scrap on January 23, 1922. Galbraith includes detailed technical descriptions of the ship and its components along with diagrams, blueprints, scale plans, maps, photographic prints, cyanotypes and various ephemera. Additionally, Galbraith records the ship's activities from November 21, 1894, to February 28, 1896.
In this oral history, Rebecca Croom Fordham (1899-1983) describes attending East Carolina Teachers Training School (East Carolina University) in Greenville, North Carolina, especially during the 1918 flu epidemic; teaching in Lenoir County, N.C.; and her life in the 1920s during the land boom and subsequent bust in Florida.
