This collection consists of the records of the Institute of Outdoor Theatre which was founded in 1963 and includes material related to over 600 outdoor theatres, some of which began operation in the 1920s. Included are play scripts, correspondence, clippings, publicity material, video and audio recordings, feasibility studies, publications, reel-to-reel tapes, 35 mm slides, blueprints, and audition-related materials. This collection is being processed with the support of a National Historical Publications and Records Commission grant.

Audio-Visual Materials include photographs of scrapbook images (ca. 1950s) documenting both abandoned and active Pitt County, North Carolina, African American public schools. Also included are seven videocassettes documenting a grant-funded oral history project completed in 1994 entitled Growing up African-American in Pitt County.

This collection contains land records (1883-1900) for Edgecombe and Pitt Cos., North Carolina, financial records (1882-1901), and genealogical notes related to the DuPree family. Also included are photographs of DuPree, Morton, Boone, and Hardison (Martin Co., N.C.) family members and a 1910 class picture from Greenville High School, Pitt County, N.C.

Collection (1766-1863, undated) including correspondence, accounts, etc., of the Skinner and Hoskins families, who were prominent families of Eastern North Carolina.
