The Records of East Carolina Men's Basketball are comprised of press handbooks, media guides, gameday programs, and game footage.

Papers (1758-1953, undated) including correspondence, financial records, land records, remedy for eye problem, laundry, haircuts, Christian club, etc. 372 items.

This collection includes the papers of retired History Professor from Darton College (now part of Albany State University in Georgia) and author Dr. Royce G. Shingleton. These papers document his literary career in the fields of Naval History and mid-nineteenth century American South. His books include High Seas Confederate (about John Newland Maffitt), John Taylor Wood: Sea Ghost of the Confederacy, and Richard Peters: Champion of the New South; he also contributed to William N. Still's book The Confederate Navy. A native of Stantonsburg, North Carolina, Shingleton has done genealogical work relative to the Shingleton family that is also found in this collection.

This collection (1846-1903) contains correspondence between Ransom Respess of Ransomville, North Carolina, and other members of his family including his son, Reverend George Respess of Ransomville, N.C. Topics include family members, agriculture, an 1860 uprising of enslaved persons in Alabama, and the Civil War Battle of Manassas (1862). Among other items included is an 1846-1849 arithmetic cipher book.

Papers of Edmund J. Lilly, Jr.(1894-1978) a U. S. Army artillery officer in World War I and World War II, who served as commander of the 57th Philippine Scouts and regimental commander, experienced the Bataan Death March and was a POW until 1945. The collection does not include the originals, but facsimiles of Lilly's military records, correspondence, clippings, a hymnal, letters, and photographs.

Papers (1852-1864) including correspondence, letters, description of trip, commentaries, price of gold, personal illness, etc.

Papers (1861-1863) including correspondence, tintype, a Bible, a comb, and two rings.

Memoir (1861-1865) including correspondence, transfer and escape of prisoners, details of sabotage of a Union train.

Various unrelated items (1862-1865) concerning the Civil War including two 1862 letters, an 1865 oath of allegiance, Harper's Weekly lithographs (1862), an Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad Company 1862 statement, an 1862 $1000 Civil War bond from North Carolina;, and photocopies of a memoir written about fifty years after the war and transcribed in 1978, an 1862 letter and an 1863 circular.

Photograph album (late 1890's-1930's) compiled by an unknown missionary that documents the Methodist Church's mission activities in Rhodesia and Mozambique of everyday life.

The map was drawn by Lt. William S. Andrews of the 9th N.Y. Regiment and published by the authority of the Secretary of War, Office of the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army.

This collection contains digital material related to the historic revitalization of downtown New Bern, North Carolina, by the Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation covering the period 1979-2014. Digital material includes both digitized and born-digital material.

Papers of Tom Wolfe (1968-1982) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Richmond, Virginia-born American novelist, journalist, critic and essayist, associated with the New Journalism literary movement, consisting of proofs of three of his published works, including The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968), Drawings by Tom Wolfe In Our Time, (1980), Tom Wolfe: The Purple Decades, A Reader (1982) & loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Papers of Dara Wier (1981) documenting the life and literary career of the New Orleans, Louisiana-born American poet who is also director of the Masters of Fine Arts program for poets and writers at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, who was married novelist and short story writer Allen Wier (m. 1969-1983) [#1169.103] and then to poet James Tate until his death in 2015; consisting of a broadside of her poem The Consequences of Weather (1981), autographed Dara Wier.

Papers (1963) documenting the life and literary career of prolific New York City-born American poet, anti-war and environmental activist, W. S. [William Stanley] Merwin (b. 1927), consisting of a loose manuscript item transferred from a book in the Stuart Wright Book Collection entitled Seven Princeton Poets: Louis Coxe, George Garrett, Theodore Holmes, Galway Kinnell, William Meredith, W. S. Merwin, and Bink Noll which was a special edition of the Princeton University Library Quarterly (1963) edited by Sherman Hawkins.
