Collection [1949, 1960, 1962] including correspondence, clippings, genealogical notes, way of naming children, miscellaneous genealogies.

This collection includes the papers of retired History Professor from Darton College (now part of Albany State University in Georgia) and author Dr. Royce G. Shingleton. These papers document his literary career in the fields of Naval History and mid-nineteenth century American South. His books include High Seas Confederate (about John Newland Maffitt), John Taylor Wood: Sea Ghost of the Confederacy, and Richard Peters: Champion of the New South; he also contributed to William N. Still's book The Confederate Navy. A native of Stantonsburg, North Carolina, Shingleton has done genealogical work relative to the Shingleton family that is also found in this collection.

This collection consists of six ledgers (1946-1970) which are account records for Renfrew Printing Company, 716 Dickinson Avenue, Greenville, North Carolina. These ledgers were kept by the business owner Sherman McDonald Parks (1914-1972) Also included are a photograph of Sherman Parks and a newspaper clipping recounting his World War II experience with Company K, 109th Infantry.

Papers (1835, 1881-1885, 1938) of a prominent Washington, DC physician and surgeon, who treated President James A. Garfield after he was shot, 1881, consisting of correspondence, a scrapbook, a medical report, Baptist convention proceedings, religion, Christianity.
