Papers of Dara Wier (1981) documenting the life and literary career of the New Orleans, Louisiana-born American poet who is also director of the Masters of Fine Arts program for poets and writers at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, who was married novelist and short story writer Allen Wier (m. 1969-1983) [#1169.103] and then to poet James Tate until his death in 2015; consisting of a broadside of her poem The Consequences of Weather (1981), autographed Dara Wier.

Papers of Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin (1977) documenting the life and literary career of the Cork City-born Irish poet and Trinity College, Dublin educator; consisting of the corrected printer's first proof of her poem entitled The Second Voyage: Poems (1977). Note: Her name is pronounced Eileen Nee Ch-will annoy-n (where the Ch is pronounced like the ch in loch; transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, 12/1/2014.

This collection includes letters mailed to Thomas Milton Carr, Jr. from May through December 1864 while he was serving in Company B of 2nd North Carolina Junior Reserves. Correspondents were mainly family members living in Martindale in Mecklenburg County, N.C., and nearby counties. Topics are news related to the Civil War, events of daily life and the effect of the war on them, and information related to friends and family members serving in the Confederate Army.

Includes Dr. Hunt's military records.
