Personal Correspondence (December 30, 1861-September 16, 1862; April 1863) written by William Wilberforce Douglas to his family members during his service in the Fifth Rhode Island Volunteers and in General Ambrose Burnside's Expeditionary Corps in North Carolina. Letters, copied by his mother, Sarah Sawyer Douglas, from originals into a single bound journal, include references to his time at the battles of Roanoke Island, New Bern, and Fort Macon. Additionally, the journal includes newspaper clippings accounting his exploits in the war.
Willard and Daisy Rowe Papers (1963-2006) contain newsletters,clippings, publications and a poster documenting the work of the Evangelical Baptist Mission in Franklin County, North Carolina, and in Guatemala.
Papers (1943-1958) of a professor of Geography at East Carolina University, including correspondence, military service records, clippings, historical accounts, photographic prints, postcards, scrapbooks, maps, and printed materials especially relating to his World War II service as a Technician Fifth Grade, in Company B, 361st Engineer Special Service Regiment in Arizona, California, France, The Philippines and Japan.
Papers (2006-2024) from the Tar River University Neighborhood Association (TRUNA) of Greenville, North Carolina. TRUNA was created in 1998 as a merger of two pre-existing neighborhood associations: The University Neighborhood Association (TUNA) and the Tar River Neighborhood Association (TRNA). Included are files of the president, minutes, correspondence, and files related to an initiative to save the neighborhood from planned ECU development by creating the East College Park Homeowners Association (later deemed unnecessary when ECU withdrew their plans related to expansion there). Some records of TUNA and TRNA activities are also included.

The Creative Learning Center provides adult day care services in Greenville North Carolina. In the mid- 1980s, the East Carolina School of medicine donated $100,000 to start a satellite center in Farmville, NC.
