This collection consists of original photographs, photographic prints (copies), negatives and proof sheets (ca. 1890-1900, 1950s -1970s) documenting history in and around the area of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. These consist primarily of images of businesses, buildings, boats and ferries, mills, cemeteries and gravestones, architectural features of interest, churches, schools, people and historical houses.

Register (1851-1852) including correspondence, list of day to day activities, list of activities of provisioner, list of orders supplies to ships, etc.

Papers (1942-1958) including correspondence, photographs, military papers, orders and publications newspaper clippings, and miscellany.

Papers (1893-1973) including of correspondence, notebooks, pamphlets, books, photographs, newsletters, family letters, photographs, slides, maps.

Included is the July 30, 1862, issue of The London American newspaper which was published in London, England. The newspaper was only published from May 2, 1860, through early 1863 and had a pro-Union focus once the American Civil War started.

Papers (1752-1914) including correspondence, certificates, clippings, legal papers, scrapbook, postcard signed only "Ex Reb", passport, newspapers.

Papers of Naval Officer, USNA Class of 1941, including scrapbooks, ship's journal for USS O'Hare (1952), photo albums, cruise books, correspondence, memos, reports, orders, programs and miscellaneous materials covering the period from 1936 to 1956.

Papers (1908-1967, undated) pertaining to the military career and personal life of Lieutenant General Robert Frederick Sink (1905-1965), a graduate of West Point, a pioneer in the use of airborne warfare, who commanded the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army Airborne Corps, during World War II, 1942-1945, participating in the Allied Invasion of Normandy (1944) and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne, Belgium (1944-1945); and served as Chief of Staff of the RYUKUS command based on Okinawa, Japan (1949); as Assistant Commander of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea (1951); as a member of the Joint Airborne Troop Board at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1954); and as commander of the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) and the 18th Airborne (1958); he was promoted to lieutenant general, in 1959, and took command of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, a post he held until he retired in 1961 due to poor health; he died in 1965; the collection consists of correspondence, clippings, manuscripts, photographs & printed materials.

Papers (1905-1913, undated) consisting of correspondence, a letter copy book, photographs, picture post cards, brands of tobacco, etc. related to Halifax Co, North Carolina, native Quentin Gregory's work in China with the British-American Tobacco Company. Also included is a memoir written by his son Thomas Wynns Gregory in 2013 about life growing up and living as an adult in Halifax, N.C.
