The Mattamuskeet Lodge was originally built as a pumphouse to drain Lake Mattamuskeet in Hyde County, North Carolina, and was later converted to a hunting lodge. The collection spans 1915 to 2007 and includes photographs (1910s-1940s,undated) of the town of New Holland which was built in the drained lake bed, the New Holland Inn, and Lake Mattamuskeet. Scenes also include anglers at Lake Landing Canal, the Mattamuskeet Causeway, and carp barricades installed in the water control gates. A series of photographs from the 1990s show interior renovations being done on Mattamuskeet Lodge and gatherings by ECU student groups for retreats and public gatherings for special occasions. Two publications (2001, 2007) are from the period after the lodge was closed due to structural issues.

Records (1955, 1960-2016) of the Pitt County Historical Society (of North Carolina), including minutes, bylaws, correspondence, and clippings, photographs, financial records, programs and photographs. Also included are the records (1949-1950) of the Greenville Music Club, the Red Banks Home Demonstration Club (1946-1950), old Greenville advertising fans, and a scrapbook for the Town and Country Senior Citizens Club (1978-1999).

This collection contains code of operations, annual reports, and publications by the Department of Anthropology.

Collection (1852-2014) includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, printed materials, and other items compiled by retired East Carolina University English professor emeritus Dr. Ralph Hardee Rives (1930-2016) relating primarily to the Hardee - Rives and related families of North Carolina and the United Kingdom, the history of Eastern North Carolina (especially Halifax County and the town of Enfield), the United Methodist Church in Eastern North Carolina, state and local and national politics, and his charitable and philanthropic interests. The earliest original documents cover the period from 1852 through the Civil War and World War I.

Hunt and Michael Dukakis; Congressman James McClure Clark and Elspeth Clark, the Rev. Dr. William Finlator, the Rev. Dr. Donald W. Shriver, feminist Hebrew scholar Phyllis Trible; North Carolina legislators J. McNeill Smith of Greensboro and Willis Whichard of Durham; Civil Rights leader Dr. Anna Arnold Hedgeman, et al. Scholarly addresses delivered before national assemblies and editorials written for N.C. newspapers including the Winston-Salem Journal, the Charlotte Observer, the Greensboro Record, and the Raleigh News and Observer. Training center yearbooks (1945)

This collection contains a disassembled scrapbook created by Dr. F.M. Simmons Patterson. It is composed of photographs, correspondence, writings, publications, and other documentation of his career.

This collection contains the papers of Halifax Co., North Carolina, Superior Court Clerk John Tillery Gregory (1832-1905) and also includes correspondence with his sister and his children. Gregory operated a store with W. W. Daniels, was Clerk of Superior Court for many years, was town treasurer, and fought in the Civil War with Co G of the 12th North Carolina State Troops. The son of Dr. Thomas Wynns Gregory and Mary Tillery Gregory, he was married to Ellen Augusta Clarke and they had nine children.

Papers from Wayne Williams while he was writing "Beginning of the School of Medicine at East Carolina University". Includes typescripts from interviews Williams conducted, newspaper articles about history of hospital, information on Pitt County Memorial Hospital (previously Vidant, now ECU Health) Board of Trustees and Foundation, general source material on nursing, and drafts of book.

The collection includes annual course catalogs, summer session catalogs, graduate school catalogs, and special topic bulletins.

The Special Collections teaching collection consists of sources used for archival classroom instruction. Material within the collection was identified as out of scope for our regular collections, yet still useful as a primary or secondary source in our teaching sessions.

This collection contains the administrative records for the School of Communication including syllabi, faculty meeting minutes, annual reports, unit codes, and printed materials such as announcements, brochures, and publications.

Contained in the collection are notebooks, pamphlets, photographs and negatives from Boice's time at the University of Pennsylvania and his career afterwards.
