Birth and death information (1740-1812) for the Bishop family of Cheraw District, South Carolina, are written in ink on the inside of the front cover of a book. Only the front cover of the book is extant.

This collection contains eleven military grid coordinate system maps (1935, 1938, 1943-1945) used in World War II fighting. The maps belonged to Cmdr. Lynn Forbes Barry, a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941. During the war he served as a Lt. Commander in the Navigation Dept. on the USS Nevada (but not at Pearl Harbor). Several maps (1944) document the French Northern Coast, Southeastern Coast, Mediterranean area, and Marseille region (1935, 1943-1944). Others are of the Italian East Coast and former Yugoslavia West Coast (1938), Okinawa (1945), and Iwo Jima (marked Secret). Most have marks indicating enemy fortifications, and also airfields, roads, train routes, and coastlines, and some marks are unidentified.

This collection contains materials about the W. Keats Sparrow Writing Award and Rhem-Schwarzmann Award given by Academic Library Services, budget reports, annual paraprofessional conference, changes to library operations in response to COVID-19, division newsletters, committee meeting minutes, publications, and photographs. Materials relate to both J. Y. Joyner Library and the Music Library. There are also unprocessed materials in this collection.

Personal Files relating to activities of NC Board of Conservation and Development (1950-1953), NC Art Society (1962-1965), Pitt County Development Commission (1961-1971), Rotary Club of Greenville (1961-1971), United Nations, and miscellaneous activities. Also includes the book New Nigeria, Southern Baptists at Work written by C. Sylvester Green and published in 1936 by the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

This collection consists of records (1968-1971) such as minutes, monthly reports, correspondence, and clippings related to the founding of the Coastal Plain Mental Health Advisory Board, later called the Pitt County Mental Health Authority. Also included are newsletters (1979, 1988-1993), personnel listings, brochures, an annual report (1983/1984), and retirement related items (1997) related to Dr. Stephen K. Creech's 23-year tenure as Area Director of the Pitt County Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

Thomas R. Lundin was born March 24, 1982, in Madison, Wisconsin. After completing high school in 2000 in Greenville, North Carolina, he joined the U.S. Army and served as an Apache Helicopter crew chief for 3rd Infantry Division in Kuwait during the Iraqi War of 2003. This collection contains papers, a diary, maps, military manuals, and ephemera related to his service, especially during the Iraqi War.

Papers of Randall Jarrell (1913–1992 [Bulk: 1939-1966], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Nashville, Tennessee-born American poet, literary critic, children's author, essayist, novelist, and educator; including his childhood and education in Nashville, his education at Vanderbilt University, where he studied under Robert Penn Warren, Allen Tate, and John Crowe Ransom; his career of teaching English Literature at Kenyon College, University of Texas at Austin, Sarah Lawrence College, and the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina; his service, during World War II, in the U. S. Army Air Corps; his numerous awards and honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, in 1947-1948, a grant from the National Institute of Arts and Letters in 1951, the National Book Award in 1961, and as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1956-1958; including correspondence, literary essays, lists and notes, original art, photographic prints and negatives, manuscript and printed poems, manuscript volumes, oversized materials, audio materials, and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Thirty items (ca. 1959-1971), consisting of photographic prints with captions, one note, and one newspaper clipping, concerning the launch and retirement of the NS SAVANNAH which was the first nuclear powered merchant vessel.

Papers of Mary Lee Settle (1956-1986 [Bulk: 1980-1984]) documenting the life and career of the popular Charleston, West Virginia-born American novelist, actress, and educator at Bard College, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the University of Virginia; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volumes by Settle including All the Brave Promises (1966), The Killing Ground (1980), O Beulah Land (1956), The Scapegoat (1980), and Water World (1984), containing advertising letters, a biographical sketch of Settle by George Garrett, and Settle's letters to Stuart Wright, etc.

These records (1894-2000) pertain to the Salisbury-Rowan Lodge No. 100 of the Knights of Pythias in North Carolina, the Salisbury Lodge No. 24 and the Rowan Lodge No. 100. Included are Minute books, Membership Roll books, semi-annual reports, correspondence, financial papers, applications for membership, withdrawal and transfer cards, dismissal and suspension certificates, rosters, directories, photographs and publications that contain procedures for ranks and rituals. Two documents (1898, undated) relate to the Zeb Vance Lodge No. 65 of North Carolina.

Collection consists of material related to the history of the Lynndale Garden Club of Greenville, North Carolina, from its founding in 1974 to 2016. Included are meeting minutes, executive board minutes, newsletters, photographs, clippings, yearbooks, brochures, membership rosters, treasurer reports, constitutions and by-laws, and engagement calendar books put out by the Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc., which contain photographs of winning arrangements by garden club members (including members of Lynndale Garden Club).

Photograph album compiled by Ethel May Burt (ca. 1900) consisting primarily of photographic prints documenting Edenton, Chowan County, N.C., but also including views of various towns including Belhaven and Louisburg, N.C., and Claremont, Corbin Point, James River, and Portsmouth, Va., focusing on street scenes. Also includes also photos of families and friends; White and African American residents; the sitting rooms of Mrs. C. B. Elliott and Mrs. R. L. Temple; and images of notable sites, including Chowan County Courthouse, Dr. Richard Dillard and his front yard, Sailboat ELIZABETH, Norfolk & Southern Railway Stations and Depots, Edenton Bay, U.S. "Fish Pond" and Fish Hatchery, Bank of Edenton, Edenton Cotton Mill interior and exterior views, Methodist church, C.
