Papers (ca. 1923-1978, undated [bulk: 1955-1975]) of a prominent Greenville, North Carolina attorney and Democratic Party activist, who served as administrative assistant to U. S. Senator Samuel J. Ervin, Jr., 1955-1975, notably during the Watergate Scandal, and including personal, social, business and political files, photographic prints, and oversized materials relating to his life in Washington, DC, and North Carolina. Also contains information related to the life of his wife Marie Hardee Spain, a Greenville, North Carolina, native.

Papers (1862-1916) of a private in the 5th Minnesota Volunteers, 1862-1864, who was present at the siege of Vicksburg, MS and who later became a farmer, consisting of correspondence, military orders, newspapers clippings, a farm journal, ledger books, genealogical material, poetry, letters, etc.

This collection contains the personal and administrative records of Dr. Otto Henry, a former East Carolina University music professor. Many of the materials pertain to his time at East Carolina although there are also papers from his time as a student at Tulane University and teaching at Washington and Jefferson University.

Included is genealogy correspondence written to and from Al Jones accompanied by pedigrees, family group sheets, and family histories (most written by Al Jones). Material is filed alphabetically by correspondents' last names. The main focus is the Jones family of Blount's Creek, Beaufort County, North Carolina, and related family lines including, among others, Tuten, Cratch, Stilley, Roe/Row, Orrell, Galloway, Searles, Harding, and Purefoy, and Pridgen.

Papers (1963-2010) of East Carolina University History professor, 1969-2001, including correspondence; teaching notes and course syllabi for ECU History courses; drafts and manuscripts of papers, and publications; conference travel materials and professional association materials; lectures materials; University and History Department committees and activity files; materials concerning his education; and materials related to his participation in the Lutheran Church. Registers (1784-1858) including newspaper clippings, geographical information, handwritten pages, details of war events and miscellany.

Papers (1930-1990) of U.S. Navy admiral, U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1933, including correspondence, diaries, photographs, reports, orders, speeches, programs, and miscellany.

Collection (1794-1951, 1971, undated) including correspondence, deeds, statements, promissory notes, will, inventories, legal papers; poems, clippings, photographs, etc. relating to the Banks and Stacey families.

Collection (1844-1972) of material related to Craven Co., N.C., or to maritime topics. Cemetery records for Craven Co., N.C., list 800 tombstones and include some hand-drawn maps and local historical notes. Records of the New Bern Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, New Bern, N.C., include a minute book (1954-1966), membership roll calls, correspondence, clippings, notes, reports, resolutions, and other materials. Postcards, stereographs, and sheet music concern naval and maritime themes and include World War I patriotic sheet music. Scrapbook (1919-1922) contains clippings on the construction of concrete ships at the Newport Shipbuilding Corporation of New Bern, N.C., and on the New Bern Bears baseball team. Other postcards and printed materials concern the North Carolina Outer Banks ferries; Bethlehem Steel Corporation; and the U.S. Navy, including the USS Maine, early submarines USS Porpoise and USS Shark, the USS San Francisco, and a compilation of articles written during WWI for the onboard newspaper of the USS George Washington entitled The Hatchet of the United States Ship George Washington by Captain Edwin T. Pollock and Lieutenant Paul F. Bloomhardt.
