Diary (1 January - 25 March 1865) of a sergeant in Company C, 110th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, 6th Corps during the Petersburg - Appomattox, VA campaign.

Collection contains receipts from Nowell's Drug Store in Wendell, North Carolina. The receipts are from ordering medicinal and general supplies between 1915 and 1937.

T. A. [Ernst Theodor Amadeus] Hoffmann (1776-1822) that became the basis of the ballet of the same name by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893); translated by Ralph [Frederick] Manheim (1907-1992); pictures by Maurice Sendak; also including loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volume entitled The Art of Maurice Sendak (1982-1985), by Selma G. Lanes, including letters by and about Maurice Sendak to Stuart Wright.

Papers of William Alexander Percy (2016) concerning the wealthy Greenville, Mississippi-raised planter, lawyer, noted poet and memoirist, whose father, Leroy Percy, served as U. S. Senator from Mississippi, 1910-1913; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volume of Percy's poems, entitled Enzio's Kingdom and Other Poems; also Stuart Wright's note that he gave the book to commemorate George Core's retirement as editor of Sewanee Review (2016); also Stuart Wright's email correspondence with Percy's biographer, Benjamin E. Wise, and East Carolina University faculty members, Thomas Douglass, and Maurice C. York regarding Wise's collection of works by Percy (2016).

Collection (1899-1957 [Bulk: 1899-1954]) of diaries by Rev. J.G. Cassel, a Brethren of Christ missionary in Guatemala, 1899-1957; also an untitled history of missionary work in Guatemala by William Haymaker, written in 1947, describing his missionary career, 1887-1947. 8 vols. This collection contains material documenting the life of James Long Newsom, Sr., (1914-2007) of Durham, North Carolina. A graduate of Duke University and Duke University Law School and attended Syracuse University Law School, he began practicing law in Durham in 1938. Correspondence (1931-1940) documents his post-high school education and courtship of his future wife Frances Martin whom he met at Syracuse. As a member of the United States Naval Reserve, he fought in the South Pacific for the years 1942-1945 during World War II and this experience is covered with extensive correspondence, photographs, souvenirs, programs and military newspapers. After the war, he returned to his law practice and continued his Naval Reserve career. Also included are diplomas, certificates, family-related photographs (back to the 1910s), clippings, and genealogy.

Papers (1845-1937) of Pasquotank County, N.C. farming and mercantile family, including correspondence, legal papers, financial records, account books, ledgers, a map, cost of advertisements, business cards, etc. Also glass negatives of Hollowell family members, house exterior, room interiors, logging scenes, beach scenes, Nags Head hotel, and an 1899 classroom cadaver dissection scene.

Papers (1941-1970) of member of U. S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, including correspondence, orders, citations, an informal log of his naval service, 1941-1947, a photographs, and miscellany relating to his service aboard the destroyers USS LEA and the USS WADSWORTH during World War II and his postwar naval career.

The WVOT (Radio Station: Wilson, N.C.) Collection is a scrapbook (1947-1948) containing identified photographs and newspaper clippings documenting the organization and early development of a private radio station in Wilson, N.C. At the time, Wilson was well-known for its tobacco warehouses. The photographs depict the station's founders and special events involving the radio station as well as views of Wilson and its tobacco warehouses and business district.
