Papers (1864-1958 undated) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, lawyer, judge, legislator, and gubernatorial candidate Richard Tillman Fountain consisting of correspondence, report, clippings, newspapers, law practice documents, letters, pamphlets, photographs, clippings, scrapbooks, and reports.

Papers (1756-1887) of various family members, including ensalver Edward R. Stanley who was a Craven County commissioner and president of the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad, including correspondence, deeds, records of sale for enslaved persons, a will, a marriage certificate, and a map.

Papers (1736-1979) of the Whitehurst family of Craven County, North Carolina, including correspondence, genealogical information, land records, financial records, church related items, pamphlets, brochures, greeting cards, invitations, UDC records, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous.

This collection includes materials related to George Sutton (b. November 1757 – d. 1827) of Durant's Neck, North Carolina, and his family. Included is a King James Version Family Bible printed in 1752, with written genealogical records of the Sutton family.

This collection contains minutes (1961-1970, 1999-2005, 2013-2014, 2016-2017) for the Dig and Delve Garden Club of Greenville, North Carolina. Also included are the constitution and bylaws, correspondence, and loose minutes for one meeting in 1975 and one in 1994.

This collection contains the administrative records for the East Carolina African and African American Studies Program. Record types include annual reports, committee meeting minutes, curriculum and course proposals, correspondence, promotional materials for related programs and events, press releases, and newspaper clippings.

The bulk of the Raymond J. Kragness Papers (1943-1946, 2000, 2004) pertains to Mr. Kragness's service in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre in World War II aboard the USS Escambia. Personal items include rites of passage membership cards (such as crossing the Equator), draft board notification, photographs, post cards of San Francisco Bay, course certificates, separation from service records and a brief family history. The remaining items pertain to his service on the USS Escambia, a fleet oiler. Included are the ship's history and directory, newsletter "Eighty Times," a list of ships fuled by the USS Escambia, plans of the day, congratulatory messages from Admiral Halsey, and invitations and tickets for commissioning and decommissioning ceremonies.

Papers (1941-1945) of U. S. Naval officer, graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy (1941), including his Reminiscences of World War II.

History of USS Fogg (DE-57) (undated) by Salvatore J. DiMilla and an account of the torpedoing of the Fogg, entitled "December 20, 1944" by Everett N. Schrader with Leslie Goodwin.

The papers track the history and development of Pitt County Memorial Hospital(previously Vidant, now ECU Health) and Brody School of Medicine, including scrapbooks, photographs, publications, and videos.

The Ephemera Collection contains items that were found in the Laupus Library History Collection that could not be identified to belong to a specific collection. It includes replica Confederate currency from Mississippi.

Papers (1863-1961) including correspondence; diary; family histories; recollection; description of prisoners playing games, making furniture, jewelry, beer; reading newspaper, letters, etc.

Papers (1975-2008, undated) of an organist and music professor at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, consisting of correspondence, doctoral thesis, seminar presentations, printed materials, handwritten research journal articles, clippings, and slides with images of medieval English Cathedrals, Abbeys, and Castles and depictions of musical instruments in them. The slides were taken during her six-month research sabbatical in Oxford, England, in 1982.
