Records (1977-1978)

This collection contains material related to the Naval service of William Laedlein Wentz (November 25, 1925-April 8, 2014). Included are his Naval records such as correspondence, orders, and inventory forms plus a couple of items related to visits to Korea and China, and Historical Notes for Personnel of the Naval Operating Base at Saipan on Navy Day (October 27, 1946), and reproductions of the December 7, 1941, issue or Honolulu Star-Bulletin 2nd Extra and the December 8, 1941 issue of the Honolulu Advertiser.

The Records of the Department of Business, Vocational, and Technical Education are comprised of annual reports, faculty meeting minutes, a self-study, tentaive course schedule, course syllabus, event programs, and brochures.

Collection (1932-2004) consists of clippings, a bibliography, published materials, and audio/videocassettes of televised documentories relating to the career of noted American woman air pilot Amelia Earhart.

Papers include daily and monthly reports; trial statements; criminal investigation procedures; policies; training publications and the quizzers that accompanies them; certificates; commendation; newspaper and article clippings; photographs; negatives; brochures; flyers; signs; correspondence: two sets of notes of screenplay research on Garland Bunting; Kopka's retirement speech; sketch; armband; and a roster that lists violators.

The collection consists twenty-two black and white interior and exterior photographs of the WNCT television station and the station employees. The photographs are believed to be from the 1950s.

This collection contains records of employee's who have held the position of Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Many of Austin Bunch's files pertain to the $3.1 Billion Bond Campaign.

Collection includes 25 World War II era U.S. Ration Books issued to a Greene County, North Carolina, family and to a familly in Long Beach, California. Also included are a Fuel Oil Ration Book, 3 Mileage Ration Books and an A Gas Ration sticker. These ration books document the experience of necessities being rationed during the war, and the physical description and familial connections of the people to whom the ration books were issued. Also included are unused V Mail Stationery, and 12 pin-ups which could be mailed to U.S. soldiers during the war. An additional 18 images document an Army Day parade held in Gorizia, Italy, on April 6, 1946. This group consists primarily of photographic prints depicting military vehicles and personnel in procession, including scenes of an engineers wrecker truck, spectators lining the route of march, a two and one half ton truck transporting a tractor on a trailer, a Brockway truck, an M 24 tank of the 752d Tank Battalion, armored cars, a 105 mm howitzer with a detailed view of its recoilless mechanism, a 57 mm antitank gun, elements of the 105th Field Artillery, and the S P Shore Patrol Band.

Records (1761-1936, 1942-1981) including correspondence, legal and financial papers, estate papers, receipts, financial records, surveys, newspaper clippings, photographs, bills of lading, genealogy, stock certificates, corporation minutes, and land records.

The ship's log of the US Brig Porpoise, dated 19 February 1845 to 16 June 1846, was kept during a cruise from New York to the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. It details navigational statistics, weather reports, sightings and hailing of other ships, and punishments of crew infractions. The author was probably Midshipman Benjamin Lee Henderson and the log was signed in fifteen places by Lt. Commander William E. Hunt.

Records (2008-2016) document the history of the Perry-Weston Educational and Cultural Institute, Inc., from its founding in 2008 by Mr. C. Rudolph Knight, Dr. Florence A. Armstrong, and Dr. Lawrence W. S. Auld to promote African American history, genealogy, culture, and arts, particularly in Edgecombe County (Princeville and Tarboro) and North Carolina, until its dissolution in 2016. Included are programs, invitations, circulars, posters, correspondence, clippings, and articles of incorporation and dissolution that document exhibits, historic talks and presentations, tours, a Nonagenarian Tea, and publications.

Papers of preacher, physician, and dentist Greenbury Crisfield Beeks, including correspondence, medical school documents, drug preparation recipes, and a biography.

This collection contains reports about the department from the American Council for Construction Education, as well as brochures and a publication.
