Collection contains the research notes, presentations, correspondence, poetry, clippings, and publications of Dr. Hal J. Daniel, Emeritus Professor of Biology at East Carolina University.

Vaughan Family Papers (1872-1900, 1969, undated) includes photograph albums containing images of family members from Hertford County, North Carolina. Also included is Uriah Vaughan correspondence (1876-1887) and a photocopy of the 1969 appraisal of Uriah Vaughan Heirs Property in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.

Collection (1903-2004) of materials relating to Wilbur and Orville Wright and the origin and development of flight in Italy, especially the Wright Brothers activities in Italy (1909-1910), acquired from the Gianni Caproni Museum, at Trento, Italy. Included are photographic and printed materials, stamps, videocassettes, and original art, assembled for a temporary exhibit for the centennial of the first flight at the Wright Brothers National Memorial, 13-17 December 2003.

Papers (1920-1967, undated) of a North Carolina lawyer and politician consisting of clippings, pamphlets, speeches, announcement of a law partnership, report entitled "A Ten-Year Plan for North Carolina," letters, articles from magazines, ephemera and photographs.

Papers (1786-1912, undated) consisting correspondence, land records, financial records, plat, summons, mortgages and receipts.

Papers (1831-1937) consisting of correspondence, ledgers, deeds, wills, indentures, legal papers, photographs of Spanish-American War.

Papers (1849-1911) including correspondence, diary, financial records, poems, sheet music, invitation to weddings, dances and commencements.

Manuscript (1880s-1890s) including manuscripts, consisting of photocopies, etc. 1 letter and 9 chapters.

Papers (1876-1933) including correspondence, financial papers, speeches, office ledger of Dr. E. H Hornaday, entries of patients showing fees charged and illness treated, pamphlet of instruction.

Includes correspondence in letter and email form, newspaper clippings, a photograph, meeting memorandums, affiliation agreements, East Carolina University School of Medicine dean candidate information, and reports.

Photocopies of papers (1757-1899) of Pitt County, NC, Family, including correspondence, land records, estates papers, a will, school reports, and miscellany.

Photograph album documents missionaries from Cass Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church of Detroit (Michigan) in China (ca. 1900-1917). Photographs depicting local life and scenery such as street scenes, a Peng (tent cart), street vendors, Chinese Theatre scene, temples, Boxer ruins used as a boarding school and teachers and their students, are accompanied by ephemera such as programs, memorials and prospectuses.

Much of this colletion remains unprocessed. The processed portion contains the administrative records, correspondence, clippings, ephemera, and scholarship and research materials relating to exploration and early settlement of the English Colonies in North Carolina, 1644-1700, of Herbert R. Paschal, Jr.
