Collection (1902-2003) of genealogical and historical research files compiled by John Henry Oden III. Also includes the R. C. Chadwick Mercantile Records, Claude F. Pilley Papers, and the Windley Family Papers. Consists mostly of copies of wills, tax records, letters, deeds, newspapers, birth certificates, family trees, and photographs related to families in Beaufort, Washington, Hyde, and Halifax counties, N.C.

Papers (1941-1945) related to Shipfitter First Class Mariano Albert Bellitteri's service on board the USS Miami including radio press releases, newsletter, yearbook, photographs, discharge papers, "plank ownership" certificate, and a brass ashtray from the USS Miami.

Papers (1870, 1919-1974) of the U.S. Navy officer, including correspondence, photographs, reports, clippings, certificates, and miscellaneous materials.

Collection (1800 – 1834; 1860 – 1861, 1880) consisting of a business ledger jointly compiled by the Jones, Harvey & Aitchison Co. and the McPherson & Old Co., 1800 - 1834, companies owned and operated by shareholders of the Dismal Swamp Canal Co. during the construction of the canal; also a day book compiled by William Bagley, 1860 – 1861, pertaining to operations of a general store in South Mills, NC, which also includes Elizabeth "Bettie" Bagley's private diary, January - December 1880.

Letters (August 1917-August 13, 1919) written by Mary and Gordon Robertson of Africa Inland Mission while they were working in the Belgian Congo. They described their work providing education and religious training, how World War I was affecting the area, indigenous customs, and the practice of cannibalism which was still in existence in some villages.

Papers (1960-1962, 1986, undated) compiled by Doris M. Cromartie, during her service as vice chair of the executive committee of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, including correspondence, lists of workers, by-laws, newsletter, articles, and miscellaneous materials pertaining to Democratic Party activities in North Carolina.

Records (1865 [1892-1999]) including correspondence, minutes, financial and legal records, audit reports, contracts, stockholder records, bids, blurprints, job specifications, ledgers, catalogs, and miscellany.

Collection (1942-1946, 1957, 1989), including photographic prints, a scrapbook, a manuscript, and a recreational map of the U. S.

This collection consists of the family records, photographs, and genealogy records collected by Sarah Westray Bunn of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was an East Carolina Teachers' College 1936 graduate and served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1941 to 1966. Included are genealogy notes concerning the Lewis, Suggs, Speight, Powell, Harrison, and Exum families of Eastern N.C.; late 19th century and 20th Century photographs; correspondence (1905-1998); an 1847 book of children's poetry; clippings; genealogy charts; and a tombstone rubbing.

Collection [1733-1975] including correspondence, cemetery records, deed books, court records, militia records; copies and originals of indenture, estate lists, wills, land grants, Bible records, and miscellaneous.

Collection contains a newspaper clipping (6/10/1923) entitled "Christian Church Growth in 20 Years Proud Record, Dedication Services Sunday" from the Greenville, North Carolina, Daily Reflector.

Collection [1949, 1960, 1962] including correspondence, clippings, genealogical notes, way of naming children, miscellaneous genealogies.

Records 1956-1968) of Greenville, NC garden club, including 3 volumes of scrapbook materials (loose-leaf), 1956-68; 1 volume of yearbook materials (loose-leaf), including constitution, officers, calendar of events, membership, committee, projects, 1962-68; 1 volume of text (mss typescript) and color photographs entitled "Ward 3) Description of Beautification Project," [1960-65]; and 1 volume of records (loose-leaf), including membership, minutes of meetings (1956-68), executive board membership and executive board minutes of meetings (1956-66).

Papers (2/23/1862 - 12/26/1868) consisting of a pocket notebook belonging to James H. Mills, Sergeant of Company I, 44th Regiment North Carolina Troops, the "Eastern Tigers," a unit recruited in Pitt County, including orders, inventories, muster and supplies lists related to the Civil War and a few post-war account records.

Papers (1944-1987) including correspondence, an article, biographical data, personnel list, comments, sketch, etc.
