Records (1903-1998, undated [Bulk: 1987-1998) of the Robeson House Preservation Association, reflecting their to preserve the historic Robeson – Whichard - Taylor house in Pitt County, North Carolina, including correspondence, reports, photographs, drawings, grant applications, etc.

The Herman H. Duncan Collection consists of seven photographic prints (1921–1922, undated) depicting Greenville High School athletic teams and unidentified baseball teams in eastern North Carolina. Included are group portraits of the football, basketball, track and field, and baseball teams from Greenville High School, as well as images of unidentified teams, one possibly from New Bern, North Carolina. The photographs document early 20th-century high school athletics and local sports culture in Pitt County and surrounding areas.

Photographs (May 1909; August 1914) of the 1909 Goldsboro High School senior class and of the 1914 East Singing Class related to Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Contains a single record book (1893-1929) of quarterly meetings of union members and representatives of eastern North Carolina churches.

Collection (1903-2004) of materials relating to Wilbur and Orville Wright and the origin and development of flight in Italy, especially the Wright Brothers activities in Italy (1909-1910), acquired from the Gianni Caproni Museum, at Trento, Italy. Included are photographic and printed materials, stamps, videocassettes, and original art, assembled for a temporary exhibit for the centennial of the first flight at the Wright Brothers National Memorial, 13-17 December 2003.

The collection has papers from the Massengill family, specifically John David, Samuel Evans, and Pauline (Massengill) DeFriece. Included are John's account books, booklets, DeFriece's correspondence with the Country Doctor Museum, photographs, and information about the S. E. Massengill Company.

The bulk of the Raymond J. Kragness Papers (1943-1946, 2000, 2004) pertains to Mr. Kragness's service in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre in World War II aboard the USS Escambia. Personal items include rites of passage membership cards (such as crossing the Equator), draft board notification, photographs, post cards of San Francisco Bay, course certificates, separation from service records and a brief family history. The remaining items pertain to his service on the USS Escambia, a fleet oiler. Included are the ship's history and directory, newsletter "Eighty Times," a list of ships fuled by the USS Escambia, plans of the day, congratulatory messages from Admiral Halsey, and invitations and tickets for commissioning and decommissioning ceremonies.

Michael J. Zagray was a cook aboard a U.S. Naval vessel during the early 1960s. The collection spans the years 1954-1963. It includes 69 black and white, 8" x 10" photographic prints and 3 mimeographed typescripts on the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission meetings held at MAC HQ Area, Korea, in 1963 and 1 mimeographed typescript on "Unusual Joint Duty Officers' Meetings" from 1 January 1954 to 1 October 1963.

Papers (1890-1914, 1948, 1982) including correspondence, organizational publications, newspaper clippings, advertisements, blueprints, a contract, and miscellany.

This pocket diary was kept by Union soldier James F. Shapleigh of 43rd Massachusetts Volunteers, Co. D, from January 1, 1863, through July 20, 1863. He was mustered out at the end of July 1863. During this period the 43rd Massachusetts Volunteers served in North Carolina with the 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 18th Army Corps. Camp Rogers in New Bern, was home base. Included in the diary are good details related to the Battle of Washington, North Carolina, that covers March 30 to April 19, 1863, as well as everyday life for soldiers. Later scattered entries in the diary go through January 1864.

This collection primarily contains physical and digital photographs of descendants of Willie Brown (1799-1867) and Nancy Moye Brown of Greenville and Pitt County, North Carolina, especially through the line of their son Dr. William Moye Benjamin Brown (1823-1903) and his wife Jane Marie Greene.

Collection includes a minute book for Knights of Pythias Dobbin Lodge #13 located at Fayetteville, North Carolina, documenting its beginnings on January 12, 1874, through July 26, 1876, a typed history of the lodge, three receipts, and two meeting invitation forms.

This donation consists of 35 cubic feet of records (1993-2014) documenting the NCEast Alliance organization under its previous names of North Carolina's Eastern Region (2005-2014) and Global TransPark Development Commission (1993-2005). NCEast Alliance is a regional economic development agency serving the thirteen counties in eastern North Carolina that surround the Global TransPark at Kinston, North Carolina.
