The largest portion (1911-1947) of this collection (1837-1993) contains correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera related to the extensive charitable interests of Mary Estelle Crawford Fry, her husband James Woods Fry and son Gilbert Crawford Fry, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The charities include the Bethel Mission operating out of Hong Kong at the time of this correspondence (1938) due to war in China, the San Miao Orphanage in Saratsi (Suiyuan Province) of Northern China [later became part of Nei (Inner) Mongolia], the China International Famine Relief Commission, missions dealing with French and Belgian orphans of WWI, and the International Students' House conducted by the Christian Assoc. of the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier correspondence (1837-1869), unrelated to the above mentioned charities, is mainly written between Mrs. Mary M. Crawford of Boston, MA, Mrs. Addie A. Stien of Norristown, PA, and Sower family members in Boston and Norristown. Also included are family photographs and family history information related to the Chitty, Stroup (Strup, Strupe, Strub), and Ruede families of Forsyth Co., NC.

Kittrell, a DVD of a Motion picture of Greenville, North Carolina (ca. 1940s-1950s) showing ordinary daily scenes and local buildings, CD of early 20th Century Pitt County schools, and 2 DVDRs made from 8mm reels of home movies (1947-1967) made by the Keel family of Greenville, N.C.

Papers consist of Diary containing descriptions of Civil War camp life and of the Battle of Cheat Mountain, West Virginia (9/12/1861) which was Robert E. Lee's first campaign.

This collection contains documents (1821-1994, bulk 1860s-1910s) related to the Newsom family, especially Marion Eaton Newsom, of Littleton, Warren and Halifax Counties, North Carolina. Included are correspondence, land records, legal records, financial papers, and a family history written by Marion E. Newsom (1909, addendum 1911) about the Newsom and Nicholson families. Some material also relates to the Whitaker and Heptinstall families. A large part of this collection also documents the history of Littleton and institutions there such as schools, churches, and Littleton Female College.

Includes a complete set of the monthly periodical, The Medical World, for the year 1908.

Collection includes a minute book for Knights of Pythias Dobbin Lodge #13 located at Fayetteville, North Carolina, documenting its beginnings on January 12, 1874, through July 26, 1876, a typed history of the lodge, three receipts, and two meeting invitation forms.
