Collection (1932-2004) consists of clippings, a bibliography, published materials, and audio/videocassettes of televised documentories relating to the career of noted American woman air pilot Amelia Earhart.

Papers (1941-1954, 1981-1994) including correspondence, transcripts, certificates, publications, photographs, a map, fact sheets, and a magazine article.

This collection contains materials (1940s-2013) related to the interests and activities of Holley Mack Bell II and Clara Bond Bell of Windsor and Eden House in Bertie County, N.C. Mr. Bell served in World War II, worked on several newspapers including the Charlotte News, Bertie Ledger-Advance, and the Greensboro Daily News; and was employed by the U.S. Information Agency as a press attaché at several American embassies in South America. Mrs. Bell worked as a social worker, in Public Welfare, and also with social service organizations while they lived in various South American countries. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bell were active in historic preservation, especially with the Historic Hope Foundation, Friends of Hope Committee, Preservation North Carolina, the Museum of the Albemarle, and the Historic Albemarle Tour (HAT), and were active in the Episcopal Church. Included are Bertie Ledger-Advance newspapers, correspondence, publications, photographs, clippings, pamphlets, notes, and brochures.

Personal Files relating to activities of NC Board of Conservation and Development (1950-1953), NC Art Society (1962-1965), Pitt County Development Commission (1961-1971), Rotary Club of Greenville (1961-1971), United Nations, and miscellaneous activities. Also includes the book New Nigeria, Southern Baptists at Work written by C. Sylvester Green and published in 1936 by the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Diaries, journals and letters (1897-1906, 1986-1988) of Mormon missionaries in Eastern North Carolina (1897-1906), including William A. Adams, 1900-1902, James Godfrey, 1899-1901, William M. Hansen, 1897-1898, William R. Hobbs, 1901-1903, Lewis Johnson, 1903-1905, William A. Petty, 1905-1906, and James Taylor, 1900-1902, along with Memoirs, Notes, clippings, anecdotes and other materials compiled by Joel Grant Handcock, for use in the book Strengthened by the Storm.

Photograph album (late 1890's-1930's) compiled by an unknown missionary that documents the Methodist Church's mission activities in Rhodesia and Mozambique of everyday life.

James Lafayette Whitehurst was born on November 5, 1861 in Bethel Township, Pitt County, North Carolina. His family stayed in Pitt County or moved to Martin County, North Carolina. The collection contains a book written by Margaret Ann Whitehurst in 2006 containing blank spaces to fill in births, deaths, and marriages. There are also photos of the Whitehurst family generations 1-6.
