Papers of Richard Wilbur (1948-2008, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet, translator, and educator at Wesleyan University and Smith College, who was associated with the New Formalist movement, and who became poet laureate of the United States; including correspondence with John Ciardi, W. S. Merwin, and Louis Untermeyer, manuscript typescripts, audio recordings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, proofs of published materials, and oversized printed and photographic materials.

Papers (1756-1887) of various family members, including ensalver Edward R. Stanley who was a Craven County commissioner and president of the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad, including correspondence, deeds, records of sale for enslaved persons, a will, a marriage certificate, and a map.

Diary (1864-1865) kept by William W. Perry, a Pennsylvania soldier who joined the Union Army on January 4, 1864, at the age of thirteen. Also included are eight pages listing the men from Ringgold, Pennsylvania, who served in the Union Army during the Civil War.

This collection includes Hyde County, North Carolina, land records (1797-1825) for Benson, English, Bell, Carrowon, and Selby families; a will (1791) for Samuel Selby; and an 1824 letter.

Photocopies and handwritten transcription of the Riddick--Hinton--Kittrell Bible Records referring to the Riddick family of Gates County, the Hinton family of Pasquotank County, and the Kittrell family of Pitt County, North Carolina. The Bible was published in 1857 and the birth, death, and marriage records span the years from 1820 through 1926.
