H. [John Hamilton] Reynolds (1794-1852), dated 17 April 1817, each bookmark was autographed by a leading contemporary poet, writer, or other literary figure.

Consists primarily of correspondence (1914-1919) from David Balcombe to his parents in South Norwood, Surrey, England, plus clippings, ephemera, and photographs of India. Also included are letters (1928-1935) from Walter George Courtice to his sister Ruby R. Courtice, during his residency in Durban, South Africa.

Vincent J. Bellis Papers

Bellis pertaining to the environmental impact of the Chicod Creek (North Carolina) channelization, the East Carolina University Institute for Coastal and Marine Resources, North Carolina Academy of Science, and material concerning the Sierra Club of NC and other environmental groups. Included are correspondence, affidavits, reports, notes, conference proceedings, environmental studies, and newsletters.
Papers include photocopies of transcriptions of correspondence (1863-1864) written by Josiah Robert Peele Ellis of Wilson Co., North Carolina, to his wife Elizabeth Grimes Ellis while he was serving in Company C of the 43rd N.C. Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The letters were transcribed in 1977 by Hugh Buckner Johnston who also provided supplementary information. Also included are genealogy records for the Ellis and Hill families of Eastern North Carolina.

#0326Papers (1943-1945) of naval reserve officer who commanded the Naval Armed Guard aboard the SS EDWIN L. GODKIN and the SS CHIPPEWA, during World War II, including logbooks, inventories, reports, memorandums, voyage itinerary, orders, photographs, etc.
The collection is comprised of two ledger books and a booklet. The ledgers are from 1945 to 1951 and 1952 to 1958. In them is a list of examinations with date, name, date paid, and amount. A separate section is maintained for "negro" or "colored" patients.
