Papers of William [Morris] Meredith, Jr. (1964-1983) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet and educator at various universities including Connecticut College; consisting of materials mainly pertaining to The Cheer, by William Meredith (1980); including notes, manuscript typescripts, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized proofs.

Papers (1908-1967, undated) pertaining to the military career and personal life of Lieutenant General Robert Frederick Sink (1905-1965), a graduate of West Point, a pioneer in the use of airborne warfare, who commanded the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army Airborne Corps, during World War II, 1942-1945, participating in the Allied Invasion of Normandy (1944) and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne, Belgium (1944-1945); and served as Chief of Staff of the RYUKUS command based on Okinawa, Japan (1949); as Assistant Commander of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea (1951); as a member of the Joint Airborne Troop Board at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1954); and as commander of the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) and the 18th Airborne (1958); he was promoted to lieutenant general, in 1959, and took command of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, a post he held until he retired in 1961 due to poor health; he died in 1965; the collection consists of correspondence, clippings, manuscripts, photographs & printed materials.

This collection contains audio recordings of interviews created during Oral History Day at the Country Doctor Museum.

Collection (1916-1918) includes 14 silver gelatin photographs and 4 printed postcards that belonged to Emil Görling, a German soldier in the 3rd Landwehr Division during World War I. The majority of the images document the 1918 German Spring Offensive in Northern France, specifically the Noyon campaign (April-August 1918). Included are images of the devastation in the area, the battlefields between the towns of Noyon and Lassigny in France, and the unit at work, at leisure and in retreat in the Lorraine area. Many of the photographs and postcards have comments written with pencil or ink in German.

Warning: This collection contains racial imagery and rhetoric that may be offensive to users. Collection (1917-1920s, 1965) of Ku Klux Klan materials including correspondence, publications, an admission card to a talk, and a parody basketball game ticket.

Papers (1943-1945) of naval reserve officer who commanded the Naval Armed Guard aboard the SS EDWIN L. GODKIN and the SS CHIPPEWA, during World War II, including logbooks, inventories, reports, memorandums, voyage itinerary, orders, photographs, etc.

Scrapbook, clippings, correspondence, photographs, reports, and other materials related to the World War II career of Lt. Commander Richard Hamilton Smith aboard the USS Teak and the USS Thomas J. Gray, and especially related to the successful evacuation during 7-9 September 1945 of British, Australian and American prisoners of war held by the Japanese at Kiirun, Formosa [Taiwan].

Collection of photographic materials dating from 1944 to 1974 created by Dr. Samuel T. White, II, a Greenville, North Carolina optometrist. Materials include photographic prints, negatives, slides, indexes, and printed forms documenting personal, professional, and artistic photography. Subjects include portraits of family and acquaintances as well as landscape and community scenes primarily depicting Eastern North Carolina. An additional group of forty five black and white photographic prints is also included.
