Imperial folio sheets, pasted on linen backing (probably in 18th century) with some insect damage and repairs, and some loss of information. Framed dimensions: 50-1/4" x 62-1/2". Scale: 1" = 5 miles. Collection (1898, 1908-2009) consists of research materials related to the history of Edenton and the Albemarle-Chowan region of North Carolina. Elizabeth Vann Moore (1912-2010) of Edenton spent her life researching local and family history topics. Her notebooks and correspondence reflect her involvement in writing Historic Edenton Guidebooks, the 300 year history of St. Paul's Parish in Edenton, a North Carolina Historical Review article on John Mare, and extensive information about the Edenton Tea Party, as well as work with the Edenton Historical Commission and the North Caroliniana Society. Also included are personal items such as her poetry, diplomas, plaques, and DVDs of interviews with Miss Moore done in 2007 by Martha Daniels.

Papers (1736-1979) of the Whitehurst family of Craven County, North Carolina, including correspondence, genealogical information, land records, financial records, church related items, pamphlets, brochures, greeting cards, invitations, UDC records, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous.

Papers of Lewis W. Green (1945-1984 [Bulk: 1984]) documenting the life and literary career of the Haywood County, North Carolina-born, journalist at the Asheville, novelist, newspaper publisher, and educator; consisting of manuscript materials relating to his novel The Silence of the Snakes (1984) which, like many of Green's stories concerned mountain people and was set in the 1930s; a biographical sketch of Green; and sheet music for the song David (Frances Frost) (1945).

Papers (1792-1969) including correspondence, financial papers,a diary, a cipher book, newspaper clipping, and a family history references to school, comments on Democratic Party, genealogical material, etc., related to the Sills family residing at Belford Plantation in Nash County, North Carolina.

This collection contains copies of the ECU Medical Review and later iterations of the publication.

Papers (1961-2007) of the Halifax County Historical Association (N.C.) including correspondence of general nature concerned with group tours, bibliography sketch, financial records, membership rolls, itineraries etc. Various historical documents, photographs, ephemera and clippings relate to the history of Halifax County including Rosenwald schools and Brick School among many other topics (1816-2011). Other items (1972-2011) such as manuscripts, printed materials, digital materials, and a video recording concern the work of Maxville Burt Williams, a social studies teacher, principal, author and playwright and his works relating to the history of Halifax County, North Carolina, including First For Freedom a play about the Halifax Resolves of 1776; The Struggle, a play about Halifax County during the American Revolution; and The Schroonchers, a play about Eastern North Carolina in the summer of 1948.
