This collection contains materials created or collected by Donald Leggett during his work as an employee of East Carolina.

Papers (1854-1857) including Day book for Nash County school teacher, notes, listing of student names, rules of school, dates of terms etc.

Papers (1772-1861) including financial records, correspondence, deeds, records of Masonic Order, and miscellaneous.

Papers (1862-1865) consisting of diaries of activities of camping, horses, etc.

Papers (1897-1972, undated) of a U. S. Naval officer, a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, 1905, who commanded the destroyer USS JARVIS during World War I, and as ordnance inspector at the U. S. Naval Ammunition Depot during World War II, consisting of correspondence, a war diary, orders, proceedings, reports, thesis, albums, photographs, postal cards, financial records, citations, certificates, biographies and miscellaneous.

Papers (1869-1870, 1873-1878, 1893) consisting of diaries containing weather information, financial statements, description of tunnel being constructed, planting, etc.

This collection (1942-1999) contains papers related to the World War II service of Lt. Commander Godfrey Cheshire, Jr., in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Harold C. Thomas (DE-21) for which he was the commander for a year. Included are photocopies of the ship's logs for the USS Harold C. Thomas, correspondence (1990-1992) with the Destroyer Escort Commanding Officers Association about reunions, Cheshire's military records (1942-1945, 1947), photocopies of clippings and articles about the Thomas and other DEs, photocopies of certificates, photographs, and DVDs containing oral history interviews of Cheshire by family members.

Society records (1949-1992), including correspondence (1949-1981), minutes (1952-1969, 1972, 1974-1978), constitution, membership lists, financial records, and proceedings.
