The Records of the Maritime Studies Program are comprised of administrative files such as meeting minutes and the USS Monitor projecy, correspondence, and audiovisual materials documenting the activities of the program.

Records (1937-1960) including correspondence, work orders, product invoices, requisitions, receipts, advertisements, photographs, and publications.

Collection holds medical notebooks from various sources. Two notebooks found in the Laupus Library History Collection with no presently known provenance. One notebook is a dietetics notebook from E. Alexander at General Hospital, Patterson, New Jersey. The other notebook is Dr. Edward Beach Crowell's medical recipe book. An additional notebook was added to the collection in 2018. This notebook, purchased from Palinurus, was the business record for a Connecticut physician in the 1840s. Two more notebooks were added in 2022. They document medical products.

Papers (1853-1946, 1962) consisting of correspondence, legal records, financial records, business memos, receipts, reports, photographs, clippings and miscellaneous related to a family of tobacconists living in Lynchburg, Virginia, and then settling in Greenville, North Carolina.

The collection has papers from the Massengill family, specifically John David, Samuel Evans, and Pauline (Massengill) DeFriece. Included are John's account books, booklets, DeFriece's correspondence with the Country Doctor Museum, photographs, and information about the S. E. Massengill Company.

Photograph album documenting the travels (1951) of the USS Seiverling through stops in Pearl Harbor, Midway, Japan, and probably Hong Kong, participation in the Taiwan Strait Patrol, and bombardments near Songjin, North Korea. Photographs depict not only the activities of the sailors, but also activities of the local people. Also included are photographs of other U.S. Navy ships, and small boats carrying surrendering North Koreans.

Collection consists of a single annotated manuscript titled History of Greenville, North Carolina, authored anonymously and undated. The manuscript documents aspects of the history and development of Greenville, North Carolina. Handwritten and or editorial revisions appear throughout the text.

Papers (1917-1969) include first World War diaries, correspondence, advertisements, pamphlets, brochures, periodicals, clippings, magazines, books, etc.

Memoir (undated) consisting of typescript memoir, economic activities.

Records (1899-2006, undated) of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia shipbuilding company, including engineering drawings, blueprints, photographs, and negatives, correspondence, contracts, reports, personnel files. Production files, etc.
