Papers (1943-1945) consisting of photocopies, letters, biography, cruise history, map and commissioning papers.

Material includes annual reports, data sheets, programs, sound recordings, publications, and correspondence related to the operation of the School of Music.

Collection (1916-1918) includes 14 silver gelatin photographs and 4 printed postcards that belonged to Emil Görling, a German soldier in the 3rd Landwehr Division during World War I. The majority of the images document the 1918 German Spring Offensive in Northern France, specifically the Noyon campaign (April-August 1918). Included are images of the devastation in the area, the battlefields between the towns of Noyon and Lassigny in France, and the unit at work, at leisure and in retreat in the Lorraine area. Many of the photographs and postcards have comments written with pencil or ink in German.

Papers (1945, 1994) of a US naval officer including an autobiographical sketch entitled Trains, Planes and Boats: A Memoir [and Genealogy of Richards Thorn Miller], 1918 - 1994, by Capt. Files (1969-1994) belonging to retired ECU Biology professor Dr. Vincent J. Bellis pertaining to the environmental impact of the Chicod Creek (North Carolina) channelization, the East Carolina University Institute for Coastal and Marine Resources, North Carolina Academy of Science, and material concerning the Sierra Club of NC and other environmental groups. Included are correspondence, affidavits, reports, notes, conference proceedings, environmental studies, and newsletters.

Papers of William Styron (1930-2007, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Newport News, Virginia-born American novelist and essayist, including correspondence; manuscripts, photographic prints, proofs of published materials, printed material, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized materials, by or about William Styron, Malcom Cowley, James Jones, Eugene Genovese, and others.

Collection contains Greenville and Pitt County, North Carolina, related photographs and ephemera (1917-2007) concerning the Pickwick Book Club, Girl Scouts, Greenville High School, and the Greenville Rotary Club, as well as documents commending the 7th Division American Expeditionary Force for their service in World War I. A large portion of the collection relates to the genealogy of the Goree, Kittrell, Hardee/Hardy, Tull, Proctor, and Hinton families, especially in Eastern North Carolina.

This collection contains personal items belonging to East Carolina Teachers College alumnus Verona Topping including a diploma from the Roanoke Rapids Public Schools and written remembrances from her fellow students.
