Collection (1761-1966, undated) consisting correspondence, financial papers, shipping records, land records, printed material, receipts, shipping records, etc.

This collection includes four letterpress books (1902-1907) that contain the outgoing correspondence from the mill's local manager, C. H. Flowers, to the company headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Information included within the letterpress books includes the amount of lumber cut, repair and operation costs, the number of hours worked by the labor crew, and descriptions of the local labor situation. Also included in the collection is Flowers' personal notebook (1901-1902) that offers a weekly account of the amount of lumber sold and prices charged. This collection also consists of many letters and directives addressed to the mill from the company's central office that provide instructions for dealing with the buying of logs, equipment, business costs, and shipments. Additionally, this collection includes personal letters and clippings of Flowers and his wife.

This collection documents Stallings Air Force Base for the years 1952 and 1953 through 44 slides (most are identified with names and dates) and ephemera such as scrapbook pages containing photographs and notes, a Christmas card, a dinner program, newspaper clippings, a base map, and a pilot training certificate.

This collection contains the records of Ronald Leon Mitchelson throughout his career at East Carolina University.

Papers of Randall Jarrell (1913–1992 [Bulk: 1939-1966], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Nashville, Tennessee-born American poet, literary critic, children's author, essayist, novelist, and educator; including his childhood and education in Nashville, his education at Vanderbilt University, where he studied under Robert Penn Warren, Allen Tate, and John Crowe Ransom; his career of teaching English Literature at Kenyon College, University of Texas at Austin, Sarah Lawrence College, and the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina; his service, during World War II, in the U. S. Army Air Corps; his numerous awards and honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, in 1947-1948, a grant from the National Institute of Arts and Letters in 1951, the National Book Award in 1961, and as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1956-1958; including correspondence, literary essays, lists and notes, original art, photographic prints and negatives, manuscript and printed poems, manuscript volumes, oversized materials, audio materials, and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

This collection contains annual reports, self studies, faculty meeting minutes, unit code of operations, announcements, brochures, publications, programs, and audiovisual materials from the School of Theatre and Dance.

The John Joyner May Family Papers document the personal and financial activities of John Joyner May and his family in eastern North Carolina from 1868 to 1930. The collection consists of correspondence, receipts, invoices, legal documents, and printed materials that reflect local commerce, credit relationships, and family life in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Notable items include a chattel mortgage agreement, a post Civil War bankruptcy discharge, business correspondence with regional merchants, and ephemera related to insurance and local publications. The materials provide insight into rural economic practices and community networks in Pitt County and the surrounding region.

These papers (1848-1882) belonged to Johnson H. Bryan, Jr.(1824-1883) of Craven County, North Carolina. Included are deeds, statements of debt and obligation, receipts, receipts for purchase and sale of enslaved people, correspondence, mortgages, bankruptcy papers, and a resolution of complaint related to tariff discriminations and maintenance deficiencies on the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad.

Cunningham (1942-1983) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Cumberland, Maryland-born American poet, literary critic and educator at various colleges including Brandeis University, 1953-1980; consisting of an oversized printed broadside entitled J. V. Cunningham: Two Poems (1983), including two poems printed on separate sheets inserted into slits in a third sheet; also including loose manuscript items transferred from works in the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including: Bibliography of the Published Works of J. V. Cunningham (1964), The Helmsman (1942), and Woe or Wonder (1951) and other items by J. V. Cunningham.
