This collection contains a single Civil War Diary (October 1, 1862 - March 24, 1863) kept by William H. H. Leach.

The C. B. West collection consists of a ledger documenting construction projects of C. B. West and his son in Greenville and other cities; and materials purchased from such suppliers as W. H. Dail of Greenville; and three Greenville Mayor's Court record books documenting minor crimes in Greenville.

Album (1922, 1939, 1942, undated) of photographic prints taken by an unidentified seaman, aboard the American armed merchant vessel SS HAGOOD, mostly during its voyages across the North Atlantic and North Sea to Great Britain during the period of October – December 1942 during World War II.

This collection includes many letters written during the American Civil War by Dr. Charles James O'Hagan, an Irish immigrant who settled in Pitt County, North Carolina, and served in the North Carolina State Troops as a surgeon, to his daughters; and letters written by Confederate soldiers to his eldest daughter. Also included are letters (1840s) from family in Ireland and testamonials written to help Dr. O'Hagan find employment; letters written in the post-Civil War era 1860s through 1882; and letters, photographs, and obituaries concerning the related Laughinghouse and Grimes families of Pitt County, N.C., in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Isabel Sue Nelson was born on January 30, 1914 in Littleton, North Carolina. She worked in Washington, North Carolina and the Office of Warren County, North Carolina Clerk of the Court. The Collection spans 1894-2008 and includes correspondences, photographs, and newspaper articles. The strength of the collection is documents relating to Littleton, North Carolina Female College Students.

Records (1966-2006, undated) documenting the activities of the League of Women Voters of Pitt County, North Carolina, a women's political organization, including historical materials, board of trustees files, publications, clippings, research files, membership files, financial records, scrapbooks, oversized materials, correspondence, annual reports, photographic prints and slides, bylaws, and position statements.

Diaries (1938-1950) of an anonymous Englishwoman written during part of her time as an Anglican missionary in Kenya and Rhodesia. The content of the journals consists primarily of the author's reflections and ideas regarding Christianity. She briefly reflects upon the events of World War II. Also included are to-do lists, logs of her time spent in prayer, and notations regarding travels, and the anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths of friends and family.
