Collection consists of material related to the history of the Lynndale Garden Club of Greenville, North Carolina, from its founding in 1974 to 2016. Included are meeting minutes, executive board minutes, newsletters, photographs, clippings, yearbooks, brochures, membership rosters, treasurer reports, constitutions and by-laws, and engagement calendar books put out by the Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc., which contain photographs of winning arrangements by garden club members (including members of Lynndale Garden Club).
Interview relates to Don Lennon experiences as a faculty member and head of East Carolina University's Joyner Library's Special Collections Department. Other subject matters include his early life, education, career development, and experiences as a resident of Greenville, North Carolina.
Papers of William Alexander Percy (2016) concerning the wealthy Greenville, Mississippi-raised planter, lawyer, noted poet and memoirist, whose father, Leroy Percy, served as U. S. Senator from Mississippi, 1910-1913; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volume of Percy's poems, entitled Enzio's Kingdom and Other Poems; also Stuart Wright's note that he gave the book to commemorate George Core's retirement as editor of Sewanee Review (2016); also Stuart Wright's email correspondence with Percy's biographer, Benjamin E. Wise, and East Carolina University faculty members, Thomas Douglass, and Maurice C. York regarding Wise's collection of works by Percy (2016).
This collection contains one-of-a-kind woven bookmarks whose design was inspired by specific works by Southern writers and were created by former East Carolina University School of Art and Design faculty member Catherine Billingsley. Also includes clipping files related to Southern writers.
The Paul T. Ricks Papers includes correspondence, legal documents, financial files, and tour documents related to the education field trip program at East Carolina Teachers College from 1935 through 1941.
This collection contains literary and personal papers of Dr. Peter L. Makuck, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the English Department, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, where he taught from 1978 to 2006. Included are correspondence, lecture and teaching notes, and drafts of poems and short stories. A large portion of this collection pertains to the publication Tar River Poetry from its founding in 1978 by Dr. Makuck, as a publication of the English Department at ECU, until 2015. Included are correspondence and all but one of the issues.
