This collection contains fifty-seven ca. 1920 photographs of Greenville, North Carolina, and of East Carolina Teachers Training School (now East Carolina University). Pictured are churches, businesses, tobacco warehouses, municipal buildings, schools, residences and Training School buildings. Many buildings in these images no longer exist. The photographer is unknown.

In 1972, Evelyn McNeill was offered a position as an assistant professor of anatomy at East Carolina University School of Medicine (renamed Brody School of Medicine in 1999). She was hired to teach neuroanatomy to medical students as well as physical and occupational therapy students. During her career at the medical school (1972-2001), Evelyn opened her home to students. She began traditions of hosting an end-of-first-year party and another for Halloween. Included in this collection are personal photographs from these parties, historical photographs of the growth and development of the school of medicine, newspaper clippings of medical student announcements, and medical school class photos and rosters during the period of 1972 to 2004.

Papers (1887-1933) including diaries, medical school notes, school register, ledger, daybooks, memo books, clippings, physician's birth record stub book, a funeral memorial record, a photograph and miscellany.

Files (1933-1990) include administrative and operational records for the Lenoir and Wayne Counties, NC Schools; speeches; policy and procedures; reports; recommendations; correspondence; subject files; term papers; Lenoir County board of education minute excerpts; school consolidation and accreditation records; school statistical data; a photograph; a map; charts and forms; clippings and notes; and certificates and other acknowledgments.

This collection contains Pulse, which relays updates on the School of Nursing.

This collection contains Tones, which is the alumni magazine of the School of Music.

Scrapbooks created by Martha O'Neal commemorating her time as a student at East Carolina Teachers Training School and as a student and Bladensville High School. The scrapbook exclusively about ECTTS includes photographs, writings, event programs, organizational membership cards, report cards, and organic matter. The other scrapbook contains event programs and memorabilia from O'Neal's time at Bladensville High School and ECTTS.

Includes Carolyn Grace Warren's diploma in nursing from Park View Hospital Training School for Nurses, a nursing school handbook, photographs of Warren's graduating class, books, prints, and case studies conducting by Warren during her training.
