USS PC-542: A Radioman's daily report from July 1, 1943 to September 27, 1944, and description of four important invasions

Thomas R. Lundin was born March 24, 1982, in Madison, Wisconsin. After completing high school in 2000 in Greenville, North Carolina, he joined the U.S. Army and served as an Apache Helicopter crew chief for 3rd Infantry Division in Kuwait during the Iraqi War of 2003. This collection contains papers, a diary, maps, military manuals, and ephemera related to his service, especially during the Iraqi War.

Papers include daily and monthly reports; trial statements; criminal investigation procedures; policies; training publications and the quizzers that accompanies them; certificates; commendation; newspaper and article clippings; photographs; negatives; brochures; flyers; signs; correspondence: two sets of notes of screenplay research on Garland Bunting; Kopka's retirement speech; sketch; armband; and a roster that lists violators.

Papers of U.S. Navy enlisted man (1863-1864) aboard the US sloop of War Powhatan, including a private log book (Nov. 1863 - Aug. 1864), correspondence, a manuscript entitled " The Attack on Charleston," and a daguerreotype of a Civil War sailor (presumably Thomas).

Register (1886-1893) including school register, number of students, grades, daily attendance, age, sex, occupation of parents, list of book used.

Collection consists of a diary (1944-1945) kept by Sgt. Douglas R. Woodworth, a radio operator serving with a B-24 bomber crew attached to the 1st Division of the 8th United States Army Air Force, while stationed in England during World War II.

This collection contains a memoir (ca. 1872) about life in New Bern, N.C., from 1822 to 1872. It includes biographical and informational data concerning politicians, lawyers and other important New Bern figures, as well as descriptions of life in New Bern and historical incidents of the period. An appendix contains transcripts of letters from prominent people.

This collection consists of three diaries (1915-1917) written by John Ambrose Chalk documenting daily weather, agricultural activities, and interesting social events in Chowan County, North Carolina. He and his family were living on Mulberry Hill Farm while he managed the farm for Mr. Henry Wood of Edenton, N.C. Also included are transcriptions of the diaries provided by the donor along with family information, and indices to places mentioned and interesting events.

The Records of the Department of Laupus Health Science Library are comprised of administrative files which include annual reports, codes of operations, and other miscellaneous publications. This collection was transferred to the Laupus Library History Collections on August 29, 2017.

Willard and Daisy Rowe Papers (1963-2006) contain newsletters,clippings, publications and a poster documenting the work of the Evangelical Baptist Mission in Franklin County, North Carolina, and in Guatemala.

Papers (1916-1933) consisting of correspondence, one typescript news release, account of daily activities, letters, vital statistics, Japan Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Papers (1897-1901) consisting of correspondence of routine personal matters and family matters, clippings, schedule of recitation and recipes relating to Dr. and Mrs. Richard H. Speight of Edgecombe County, N.C. and their relatives.

Charles A. Tournier, age 17, enlisted August 29, 1864, at Auburn, New York, was mustered in as a private, assigned to Company A, 3rd New York Light Artillery, and was discharged July 3, 1865, and returned to his family in New York.
