Collection (ca. 1930–1954) manuscript and printed materials relating to the early history of Pitt County, North Carolina, and the Greenville High School Class of 1946, including revised manuscript drafts of a history of Pitt County, including correspondence, clippings, brochures, pamphlets, maps and rationing labels.

Collection (1932-1975) of correspondence, clippings, and yearbooks compiled by Harriett Roseveare and Carolyn James, who served as club officers, relating to club membership and activities in support of World War I and II, including sale of war bonds, United Nations Day, home economics education, Green Springs Park, Parent - Teacher Associations, nursery schools and night schools, social events and scholarships for teenagers, Community Fine Arts Festival, Pitt General Hospital, Pitt County Fair, and other activities.

Collection consists of essays written on September 12, 2001, by nineteen students as an assignment in East Carolina University Professor Karin L. Zipf's "Women in American History Class," describing their reactions to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings in New York, NY, and the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Reminiscences (1999) of Capt. Walter P. Murphy, Jr. (US Navy ret.) a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, of his service (1941-1944) as a junior naval officer during World War II, including among other topics the incident of the submarine USS Sailfish sinking the Japanese carrier Chuyo.

The William Cobb Whitfield Papers consists of a class notebook, ephemera found in books belonging to Whitfield, and various other papers ranging from 1873 to 1936. Additionally, notes from a conversation between Miles J. Smith, donor of collection and great-nephew of Whitfield, and Ruth Moskop, from History Collections at Laupus Library.

Yvonne Cobourn speaks about her time as a student at East Carolina University in the late 1970s, including her classes and her on and off-campus jobs including working with Dr. Steven Riggs. She discusses her life in Greenville, North Carolina including local restaurants and attending musical performances at the Attic nightclub.

Papers (1937–1950) of U.S. Navy officer, U.S. Naval Academy class of 1941, including correspondence and grade reports of USNA; rosters, photographs, and bulletins from the USS New Mexico (BB-35); newsletters, photographs, and clippings from the USS Quincy (CA-71); Carrier Division 5 (CTF-77) and miscellany.

Papers (1907–2001) of Lt. Cmndr. John W. Gilpin, U.S. Navy, including materials relating to his family; attendance at the U.S. Naval Academy (Class of 1941); World War II service on the destroyers USS Monaghan, USS Trathen, and USS Evans; his postwar education, business career, and fraternal life.

Collection (1942-1945, 2006) of documents, maps, printed materials, etc., relating to his service as a Quartermaster 3d Class aboard the USS Ann Arundel (AP-76) during World War II, including autobiographical accounts of four voyages, and descriptions of its actions during the Normandy invasion of 6 June 1944.

Papers (1941-1970) of member of U. S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, including correspondence, orders, citations, an informal log of his naval service, 1941-1947, a photographs, and miscellany relating to his service aboard the destroyers USS LEA and the USS WADSWORTH during World War II and his postwar naval career.

Captain Richard M. Wright of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941 describes his education at the Academy and then his career during World War II on the USS Tennessee and the submarines USS Pogy, USS Parche and USS Spadefish. Postwar commentary relates his continued career in submarines USS Blower, USS Cochino, and USS Scabbardfish.

Papers (1938–1946) of U.S. Naval officer, member of USNA Class of 1940, reflecting service in the USS Yorktown, USS SC-1472, USS Stewart (DE-238), USS Neunzer (DE-150), and USS Lloyd E. Acree (DE-356), including correspondence, clippings, photographs, reports, night order book, programs, and miscellany.

The U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Thomas Onachila Jr. Papers consists of two photographs documenting the USS Leyte (CV-32), an Essex-class aircraft carrier active during the early Cold War and Korean War period. The images, dating circa 1950–1952, include a view of the vessel and a group portrait of its crew.

This collection contains land records (1883-1900) for Edgecombe and Pitt Cos., North Carolina, financial records (1882-1901), and genealogical notes related to the DuPree family. Also included are photographs of DuPree, Morton, Boone, and Hardison (Martin Co., N.C.) family members and a 1910 class picture from Greenville High School, Pitt County, N.C.

This collection contains Mary Stephenson Hammel's items from her time as a student at East Carolina which are her diploma, publication award for her work on the yearbook, and letter patch for her participation in the Women's Athletic Association. Additionally, there is a 2005 photograph of Mary and a copy of the Alumni Association's booklet made for the class of 1955's Golden Alumni event.
