Records (1950-2007) of Greenville Industries, including by-laws, certificate of incorporation, board minutes, correspondence, contracts, deeds, and blueprints, and of longtime board member and president Charles O'Hagan Horne, Jr. (1970-2000), including correspondence, financial records, blueprints, maps, and reports. Greenville Industries was a for-profit corporation founded to sell land at reduced rates to industries to encourage them to set up businesses in Pitt County, North Carolina.

Papers of Eleanor Ross Taylor (1940-2008 [Bulk: 1989-2008], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Falls Church, Virginia-born American poet, short story writer, and literary critic, consisting of edited manuscripts, proofs of published material & printed materials, including The Soul and Body of John Brown: A Poem, by Muriel Ruykeyser (1940); also including correspondence with Stuart Wright concerning her husband Peter Hillsman Taylor's papers; and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Joe Gladstone Norman was born on November 5, 1933 in the United States. Norman served in the US Army in Geislingen, Leipheim, Munster, Swabish Gmund, and Ulm, Germany (1956), and Austria (1955). The collection spans 1955-1962 and documents Norman's overseas service, immunizations records, and an Army Graphic Training Aid. The strength of this collection is Post World War II American military troops.

Collection (1799-1897, 1913) including correspondence, 1835-1897, 1913, and financial records, 1799-1894, of New Bern, NC merchant, whose store was used by Union troops, and who was appointed "Superintendent of Poor Whites" for Craven County, NC.

Frank H. Price, Jr., a graduate in the USNA Class of 1941, had a naval career including service in World War II through postwar work with developing conventional warheads for Navy guided missiles and commanding several ships and a Destroyer Division, culminating in promotion to vice admiral in 1972 and retirement in 1975. His papers cover his entire naval career and include correspondence, orders, a memoir, clippings, photographs, programs, publications and a photograph album.

This collection contains the records of the Friends of Portsmouth Island including minutes (1990-2016), correspondence, by-laws, 1994 incorporation documents, grant documents, and issues (1991-2016) of their newsletter Doctor's Creek Journal. Also included are documents related to Homecomings at Portsmouth Village (1980, 1992-2016), a DVD produced by the National Geographic Society titled "Portsmouth: Island with a Soul," and a DVD of a project done by UNC-Chapel Hill students titled "Portsmouth—In Search of the Past."

Dillard (1965-1983 [Bulk: 1981-1983]) documenting the life and career of the Roanoke, Virginia-born American poet, author, critic, translator, who taught creative writing at Hollins College, Virginia, 1964- and edited The Hollins Critic literary journal, 1996-; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volumes by Dillard entitled The Book of Changes (1974), The Day I Stopped Dreaming About Barbara Steele (1965), and The First Man on the Sun (1981, 1983), including advertising cards, publicity portraits, and a biographical sketch of Dillard by George Garrett (1929-2008); also Stuart Wright's correspondence with Annie [Meta Ann Doak] Dillard (1945-), to whom Dillard was married 1964-1975, and who was also a well-known poet, novelist and educator; and a typescript of The Affluent Beatnik (ca. 1966), by Annie Dillard.

The collection consists of reports, publications, advertising materials, and photographs used and/or created by the ECU College of Nursing.

Civil War Correspondence, (1861–1863) of Union soldier George H. S. Driver, reflecting service in New Bern and Pamlico Sound area of N.C.

Records (1909-1930), of Greene County Mercantile firm operated by Eugene Simpson Edwards and Norville F. Palmer in Hookerton and ledger (1902) of J. J. Edwards.

Records (May 1940-November 1945) include mainly correspondence between Thomas William Linder of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his girlfriend (later wife) Evelyn Doris Hill of Cayce, South Carolina. Mr. Linder worked for the railroad and later in life was an engineer with Amtrak. The letters from April 1942 through August 1945 document his service in the U.S. Army with the 816th Engineer Aviation Battalion during World War II. He was promoted to corporal in September 1942. Other items include two photographs, holiday cards, a pay stub and a poem.
