Personal files (undated) of U.S. Naval Officers (USNA class of 1925) and former director of Naval history, including correspondence, notes, published articles and reviews, speeches, oral interview transcripts, clippings, an account of duty in the Asiatic Squadron, dedication programs, and miscellaneous.

This collection consists of the family records, photographs, and genealogy records collected by Sarah Westray Bunn of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was an East Carolina Teachers' College 1936 graduate and served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1941 to 1966. Included are genealogy notes concerning the Lewis, Suggs, Speight, Powell, Harrison, and Exum families of Eastern N.C.; late 19th century and 20th Century photographs; correspondence (1905-1998); an 1847 book of children's poetry; clippings; genealogy charts; and a tombstone rubbing.

Memoir (1840) including personal memoir of Joel Root, adventures while engaged in sealing operations, cast ashore on the Indian inhabited coast of Peru.

Records (1907-1909, 1912,1920-1921,1938) of Wilson, NC Tobacco warehouse firm, including ledgers, correspondence and financial reports.

Papers (1896-1978) including correspondence, minutes, reports, records, maps, charts, newspaper clippings, trustee and law files, pamphlets, and miscellaneous.

Collection (1936-1985, undated) of programs (the majority published by Playbill), librettos and souvenir pamphlets documenting plays, theatrical dance and musical productions performed in New York City and Stockholm. The publications are printed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish languages.

Papers of Mary Lee Settle (1956-1986 [Bulk: 1980-1984]) documenting the life and career of the popular Charleston, West Virginia-born American novelist, actress, and educator at Bard College, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the University of Virginia; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volumes by Settle including All the Brave Promises (1966), The Killing Ground (1980), O Beulah Land (1956), The Scapegoat (1980), and Water World (1984), containing advertising letters, a biographical sketch of Settle by George Garrett, and Settle's letters to Stuart Wright, etc.

Papers (1853-1937, undated) consisting of correspondence, financial and legal papers, letters, records of insurance, papers on business and farming, genealogical records, etc.
