The John T. Windley Collection contains correspondence and oversize materials dating from 1900 to 1919. The bulk of the collection consists of letters organized chronologically between 1905 and 1919, documenting personal and professional activities during the early twentieth century. The collection also includes a small number of oversize items, including a 1906 mercantile agency notification sheet and several land plats depicting farms, drainage districts, and tracts of land in eastern North Carolina. Together, these materials provide insight into regional economic activity, land use, and communication practices during the period.

Collection (1760-1940) including land grants, deeds, bill of sale of enslaved persons, correspondence, Civil War documents, and an account book, pertaining to the land holdings and genealogy of the McIver, McLeod, Lane, Crawford, Mumford, and Faison families of Moore, Chatham and Columbus counties, North Carolina.

Paschal, Jr.

Various unrelated items (1862-1865) concerning the Civil War including two 1862 letters, an 1865 oath of allegiance, Harper's Weekly lithographs (1862), an Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad Company 1862 statement, an 1862 $1000 Civil War bond from North Carolina;, and photocopies of a memoir written about fifty years after the war and transcribed in 1978, an 1862 letter and an 1863 circular.

Papers include Vauter's registration as an apprentice pharmacist, a magazine article about pharmacies of the past, and booklets about first aid, dosage amounts, and emergencies in jungle, desert, or arctic.

George Vernon Holloman was born in Rich Square, North Carolina on September 17, 1902. This collection deals with the last years of his career in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945-1946. He was a colonel and very involved in developing advanced technologies related to automatic landing and flying systems in the Air Technical Service Command (ATSC) at Wright Field. While on duty with the 20th Air Force in Guam as deputy chief of staff, he died in a plane crash over Formosa. Included are clippings, photographs and a postcard.
