The collection is comprised of two ledger books and a booklet. The ledgers are from 1945 to 1951 and 1952 to 1958. In them is a list of examinations with date, name, date paid, and amount. A separate section is maintained for "negro" or "colored" patients.

Letter (1862) consisting of a report sent to Maj. J. W. Ratchford on the actions of Ripley's Brigade during the Seven Days' Battles (Peninsula Campaign).

Papers (1923-1966, undated) including literary manuscripts, including plays, shorts, stories, novel, essays, book reviews, reports, typescripts of poems, programs from plays "Spare the Old Homestead or Life at the Red Gulch Saloon. A Mellerdrammer of the Old West and The Gay '90's Review.

Collection (1942-1946, 1957, 1989), including photographic prints, a scrapbook, a manuscript, and a recreational map of the U. S.

Records (1950-2007) of Greenville Industries, including by-laws, certificate of incorporation, board minutes, correspondence, contracts, deeds, and blueprints, and of longtime board member and president Charles O'Hagan Horne, Jr. (1970-2000), including correspondence, financial records, blueprints, maps, and reports. Greenville Industries was a for-profit corporation founded to sell land at reduced rates to industries to encourage them to set up businesses in Pitt County, North Carolina.

This collection (1942-1999) contains papers related to the World War II service of Lt. Commander Godfrey Cheshire, Jr., in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Harold C. Thomas (DE-21) for which he was the commander for a year. Included are photocopies of the ship's logs for the USS Harold C. Thomas, correspondence (1990-1992) with the Destroyer Escort Commanding Officers Association about reunions, Cheshire's military records (1942-1945, 1947), photocopies of clippings and articles about the Thomas and other DEs, photocopies of certificates, photographs, and DVDs containing oral history interviews of Cheshire by family members.

Letterbooks (1864-1866, 1868) including correspondence, letterbooks of handwritten copies of letters, one speech, one cash book, one invoice book, one monthly statement book, one order book, two poems.

Collection (1756-1879) consisting correspondence, indentures, financial records, naval store industry, letter, genealogy, marriage certificate, cures, etc.

Autographed photographs of Naval officers and prints from the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings Cover Piuctures Series

These papers (1848-1882) belonged to Johnson H. Bryan, Jr.(1824-1883) of Craven County, North Carolina. Included are deeds, statements of debt and obligation, receipts, receipts for purchase and sale of enslaved people, correspondence, mortgages, bankruptcy papers, and a resolution of complaint related to tariff discriminations and maintenance deficiencies on the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad.

The Robin Brabham Collection (1862-1866, 1976, undated) consists of materials from several Civil War soldiers adn civilians, including documents relating to Thomas Midgett of Croatan, North Carolina, containing an oath, a parole and safe conduct documents issued by a Union Army officer, in 1862-1864; also documents, 1863-1866, related to several Union Army soldiers, including records of Major N. H. Foster of 1st Battalion, 12th U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery; Lt. Col. H. A. Oakman of 30th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops and; also certificates of discharge by reason of death for members of Co. A., 2nd Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Artillery.

Register (1851-1852) including correspondence, list of day to day activities, list of activities of provisioner, list of orders supplies to ships, etc.

Papers of Erskine Caldwell (1932-1982), documenting the life and literary career of the noted Coweta County, Georgia-born, American novelist of the rural poor in the American South; consisting primarily of his correspondence with Robert Cantwell; also Paul C. Richards, Autographs' description of the letters and Stuart Wright's correspondence with Paul C. Richards, Autographs relating to purchase of the letters.

Printed materials (Sept. 1999 - May 2000) including copies of Pieces of Eight, and The East Carolinian, containing articles on Hurricane Floyd and the flood that followed, football tickets, and a copy of the program for the ECU v. University of Miami football game.

This collection contains correspondence, publications, press releases, and administrative records related to the administration and competition of intramural and collegiate sports teams at East Carolina.
