Papers of George Core (1960-1997 [Bulk: 1960-1983]) documenting the life and literary career of the American historian, literary critic, and editor relating to his life and career as editor of The Sewanee Review, 1973-2016, including holographs, typescripts and other manuscript materials; photographic prints; loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including correspondence with Donald Davidson, Stuart Wright and Durrett Wagner of Swallowtail Press; a photograph of George Core at The Sewanee Review; a note about Andrew Lytle's work The Hero With The Private Parts; and materials relating to books he reviewed, including Any Cold Jordan and Camping Out.

Note: Includes 15 pages of photographic prints tipped in; historical account of the Hurdle Mills Game Club, in Hurdle Mills, North Carolina, which provided winter hunting for northerners; includes photographic prints of local buildings and people; R. L. Jones was elected first vice president of the club (1908); Stuart Wright note inside front cover: "Charles (Charlie) Lawson was my maternal grandmother's brother, Person County, NC."

Papers of Charles Wright (1970-1986) the noted Pickwick Dam, Tennessee-born American poet and educator at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; including broadsides, correspondence & typescripts related to a bibliography of Wright's work by Stuart Wright & loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection related to publications by Charles Wright.

Collection includes two folders of 48 items primarily of correspondence, letters and financial documents for a transport business that shipped commodities by riverboat.

Papers of Carson McCullers (1941-1985 [Bulk: 1941-1945]) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Columbia, Georgia-born American author of Southern Gothic novels and short stories, consisting of her correspondence with noted American composer David Diamond (1915-2005), 1941-1945, and a letter from McCullers' biographer, Virginia Spencer Carr, to Stuart Wright, regarding publication of the McCullers – Diamond correspondence, 1985.

This collection contains a logbook (1891-1929) kept by William Hadlock Gooding (b. June 1, 1856, d. September 7, 1936), the purser for the barkentine Olive Thurlow. During this time, Olive Thurlow, which operated out of Philadelphia, travelled to New York, Boston, Savannah, Washington, Port Royal, Barbadoes, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo. Other entries in the logbook refer to the settling of accounts in Boston by Gooding for his time with the bark Grace Deering (1901-1902); and accounts (1906-1909, 1925-1929) related to his life in Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine.

Papers of Lincoln Fitzell (1958) documenting the life and literary career of noted the San Francisco, California-born poet, who also worked as a longshoreman; consisting of manuscript typescripts of his literary essays, short stories, poems, and a novel The Sword and the Dragon (1958).

The U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Thomas Onachila Jr. Papers consists of two photographs documenting the USS Leyte (CV-32), an Essex-class aircraft carrier active during the early Cold War and Korean War period. The images, dating circa 1950–1952, include a view of the vessel and a group portrait of its crew.
