Papers (1897-1972, undated) of a U. S. Naval officer, a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, 1905, who commanded the destroyer USS JARVIS during World War I, and as ordnance inspector at the U. S. Naval Ammunition Depot during World War II, consisting of correspondence, a war diary, orders, proceedings, reports, thesis, albums, photographs, postal cards, financial records, citations, certificates, biographies and miscellaneous.

One bound ledger volume including records (1917) of taxes paid in Lenoir County, North Carolina. Records are categorized by township, race, name of taxpayer & category of tax.

The Records of the Department of ECU Physicians Newsletters are comprised of CLINICpulse, and ECU Women's Physicians OB/GYN Health Advisor.

Included are eighteen photographs of American Expeditionary Force troops in athletic competition possibly taken at Andernach, Germany, in 1919. The photographs range in size roughly from 4" x 6 3/4" to 4 1/2" x 9" and 6 1/2" x 9", and three are duplicates taken at different light settings. Four different photographs show General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing reviewing the troops and the remainder show the troops involved in sporting events such as a sack race, tug of war, sprints, and relays. Two of the photographs bear the photographer's mark of F. A. Ritter, Andernach.

Porter's notebook (Pensacola, Fla., 1860), blueprint, photocopies of blueprints, newspaper clippings and photographic print, relating to U.S. Navy ship construction and C.S. ship construction, including drawings of CSS Virginia (USS Merrimac) and other ships; Porter family genealogy, ca. 1860-1936.

Papers of John Ciardi (1820-1991 [Bulk: 1947-1991], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Boston, Massachusetts-born American poet, translator, etymologist, and editor, consisting of correspondence, manuscript materials, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, proofs of published works, audio recordings, and printed materials, by or about John Ciardi, Elio Vittorini, Harry Crews, George Braziller, and others; in English, Italian & Latin language.

Papers (1943-1990 [Bulk: 1969-1984]. undated) documenting the life and literary career of W. D. [William De Witt] Snodgrass (1926-2009), a Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania-born American poet, literary critic, translator and educator at various universities, including the University of Delaware (1979-1994); consisting of typescripts of two works: Autobiographical Essays (1979) and From the "Death of Cock Robin" (1979); also a proof of his pamphlet Magda Goebbels (1983); loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including from his works entitled D. D. Byrde Callyng, Jennie Wrenn (1984), Heart's Needle (1959), In Radical Pursuit (1976), Six Minnesinger Songs (1983), and Spaulding Distinguished Lectures (1969); and a printed brochure entitled A Note from the Poet (undated) by Snodgrass.

This collection contains records of Eric G. Flannagan & Sons architectural firm that relate to capital projects on the East Carolina campus.
