The collection includes publications created by the ECU School of Medicine and the University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

This collection (1924-2000) contains material related to the marketing of products produced by the Empire Brush Company of Greenville, North Carolina. Included are catalogues, price lists, marketing programs, advertising stickers and product wrappings, and original materials used in planographic printing of product wrappings. Although Empire Brush moved its manufacturing facility to Greenville Industrial Park in 1964, the collection also contains items relating to its pre-1964 years and some to Rubbermaid which bought Empire Brush out in 1994.

Papers (1921-2002) musical scores, published sheet music and lyrics, biographical articles, contracts, LPs, cassettes, videotapes, reel to reel tapes, compact discs, clippings and photographs pertaining to noted North Carolinian Loonis R. McGlohon's career as a musical composer, arranger, orchestra leader and performer of jazz, popular and sacred music. Many items also relate to McGlohon's personal life such as photographs, reel to reel tapes of family events, passports, deeds, wills, death and birth certificates, military discharge papers and correspondence with well-known musicians, actors and political figures.

Glenn Charles Ames, born 29 March 1913 in Wisconsin, served the US Military from 1935-1975, primarily in the National Guard. The Glenn C. Ames collection spans the years 1927-1986 and consists of 598 items, including manuscripts, printed materials, and photographic prints relating primarily to his service in the 41st Infantry Division, United States Army, during World War II. The collection also documents his service as commanding general of the California National Guard, 1967-1975.

Papers, certificates, photos, and artifacts of Dr. Edwin Wall Monroe. This collection contains a great deal of information regarding the development of the East Carolina School of Medicine, including planning, politics, legislation, advertisement, construction, partnerships, details of the personnel involved, groundbreakings and other ceremonies, departments, additional buildings, and community services.

Papers of Charles Wright (1970-1986) the noted Pickwick Dam, Tennessee-born American poet and educator at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; including broadsides, correspondence & typescripts related to a bibliography of Wright's work by Stuart Wright & loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection related to publications by Charles Wright.

Papers (1861-1864) including correspondence, letters, account of duties, detailed description of USS Brandywine, etc.

U.S. Navy papers (1943-1945), primarily for the USS Chilton, USS Lyon, and USS Calvert, including training materials, rosters, communiques, debarkation instructions, morning orders, landing plans, plans of the day, and ship's newsletters.

Papers of Robert Penn Warren (1885-2008 [Bulk: 1940-1989], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Guthrie, Kentucky-born American poet, novelist, playwright, biographer, and educator, who played a major role in the rise of the Fugitive and Agrarian literary movements and in the spread of the New Criticism during the mid-20th century, and who became the first poet laureate of the United States, including correspondence; manuscripts, photographic prints, proofs of published materials, printed material, loose manuscript items from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, audio recordings and oversized materials, by or about Robert Penn Warren, Cleanth Brooks, John Ciardi, Annie Dillard, Fred Chappell, Richard Ghormley Eberhart, Robert Frost, George Garrett, Randall Jarrell, Robert Lowell, Bernard Malamud, Albert J. Montesi, John Crowe Ransom, Theodore Roethke, William Carlos Williams, and others; in English, Dutch, and Latin language.

Papers of Flannery O'Connor (1962-1984, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Savannah, Georgia-born American short story writer & novelist in the Southern Gothic style, consisting of a broadside entitled Higher Education [Poem] by Mary Flannery O'Connor. Palaemon Broadside No. 16 (Palaemon Press, Ltd., undated); also mimeographed, photocopied typescripts, clippings, letters, and an audio recording of Some Aspects of the Grotesque in Southern Fiction, a speech given by Flannery O'Connor in 1960.

Ledgers, day books and other records (1920-1980), of Falkland, NC Mercantile business and its antecedent firms.

Collection (1816-1899) including correspondence, legal papers, military papers, etc. relating to William D. Holt and his cotton sales business, local policies, railroad construction, the Farmers Alliance, private debts, his service during the Civil War, and business records.

Ammons (1954-1993, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Whiteville, North Carolina-born American poet and creative writing educator at Cornell University; consisting of correspondence, proofs of published material, printed materials and oversized materials; also including loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Stuart Wright's research on A. R. Ammons.
