Papers (1833-1912, undated) consisting of correspondence from classmates and friends, financial papers, essays, genealogical notes, clippings, newspapers and miscellaneous.

Papers of Reynolds Price (1853-1986 [Bulk: 1978-1986]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Macon, North Carolina-born American poet, novelist, dramatist, essayist, and educator at Duke University; consisting of manuscripts, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating mainly to his publications A Common Room (1954), Mustian (1983), Private Contentment (1984), and to Reynolds Price: A Bibliography, 1949-1984 (1986), compiled by Stuart Wright; also photographic prints; proofs of works Price reviewed for publishers; and printed materials and oversized materials.

These records (1894-2000) pertain to the Salisbury-Rowan Lodge No. 100 of the Knights of Pythias in North Carolina, the Salisbury Lodge No. 24 and the Rowan Lodge No. 100. Included are Minute books, Membership Roll books, semi-annual reports, correspondence, financial papers, applications for membership, withdrawal and transfer cards, dismissal and suspension certificates, rosters, directories, photographs and publications that contain procedures for ranks and rituals. Two documents (1898, undated) relate to the Zeb Vance Lodge No. 65 of North Carolina.

Papers (1727, 1823-1896, 1924, 1947) of Martin County, NC family, including correspondence, land records, plats, mortgages, a recipe, promissory notes, summonses, account of estate sales, receipt, and miscellany.

This collection contains photographs (mostly snapshots, also tintypes, studio portraits, and 2 photograph albums) mainly related to the Croom and Smith families of Lenoir County and the Elmore and Rouse families of Lenoir and Wayne Cos., North Carolina. Also included are images for people in related families of eastern North Carolina and the Cole, Meeks, Rouse, Infinger, Vallotton, and Thompson families in Georgia. Most images are identified.

Papers of Mark Strand (1968-1984, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Canadian-born poet, short story writer, translator, and educator at numerous universities, including Columbia University, who served as Poet Laureate of the United States, 1990-1991; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to publications by Mark Strand, printed materials, proofs & dust jackets of published works, oversized proofs & dust jackets, and manuscript typescripts.

Papers (1867-1869, 1885) of Quaker, who refused to serve in Civil War and who became a tax assessor and farmer near Kinston, NC, and state business agent and treasurer for the NC Farmers' Alliance, 1894-1900, consisting of letterpress book, financial records, Republican party politics, security notes and press, store account.

Papers (1918, 1932, 1942-1969) of Episcopalian missionary from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to the Philippines including correspondence, financial records, affidavits, typescripts, newspapers, and miscellany. A lot of the documentation pertains to her time in the Los Banos Internment Camp during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II.

Papers include genealogical research, correspondence, photographs, and photocopies from 1885 Baptist Almanac.

Printed materials (1960-1990) received by Drs. Joseph and Lala Steelman related to the National Democratic Party and related organizations concerning social, environmental, and political issues (1969-1990). The collection also includes family files on Steelman and Edmisten families, plus large collection of familial correspondence. Records pertaining to the Steelmans' time at East Carolina are located in University Archives.

Papers (1903-1951) including correspondence, photographs, negatives, pamphlets, letters form of radio shows, reading, social events and miscellaneous.

Collection (2005) of research material regarding the Battle of Wyse Forks, North Carolina, compiled by the donor for Through the Eyes of Soldiers: The Battle of Wyse Forks, Kinston, North Carolina, March 7-10, 1865, by Tom J. Edwards and William Rowland, edited by Ashleigh D. Brothers, published by the Lenoir County Historical Association, Kinston, N.C., in 2006, including typescripts of unit histories, excerpts from official records and published works, and manuscript maps of the battle.
