The Records of John McDade Howell include official and personal correspondence, speeches, reports, and other miscellaneous papers developed during his tenure as Chancellor.

This collection contains the papers of English Professor Dr. Ralph Hardee Rives which includes correspondence, manuscripts, photos, theatre programs, and newspaper clippings.

Papers of Aaron Copland (1943-2005 [Bulk: 1971-1997]) documenting the life and musical career of the iconic Brooklyn, New York-born American composer, consisting of correspondence between Stuart Wright and Copland and others relating to Copland, 1977-1997; also loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Aaron Copland; photographic prints; original art; brochures, pamphlets and periodicals relating to Aaron Copland; in English, French & Spanish language.

Original early 1900s photographs of Professor William H. Ragsdale's Boys' School aka Greenville Male Academy (handwritten inscription on the back of the image: The Old Academy, Greenville, N.C., A. B. Ellington), Pitt St. Bridge over Tar River (handwritten inscription on the back of the image: New Iron Bridge across Tar River, Greenville NC), and two interior images of the A. B. Ellington & Co. Store on Evans St. between 5th and 4th streets in Greenville, North Carolina.

Papers (1762-1902, undated) documenting the life of the Noble family from the Chicod Township of Pitt County and the Creeping Swamp and Swift Creek areas of Craven County. The bulk of the collection includes material related to the activities of Celina Clark Noble (1829-) and her family and includes land records, land description and surveys, promissory notes, mortgages and other legal papers, bank notes, ballads, financial papers, receipts, etc. Also included is the Civil War correspondence (1864-1865) of Corporal E. E. (Evans Everette) Noble (1829-1895) of the 67th Regiment North Carolina Infantry to his wife Susan J. Noble (1837-1873) while serving throughout Eastern North Carolina.

This collection contains letters (1964-1967) written by brothers Terrence and Dennis Miller of St. Louis, Missouri, who joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Letters written by Dennis Miller during 1967 document his time serving in Vietnam as part of 3rd BN, 60th Ord Co. Also included are letters written by fellow soldiers and friends (through 1971), service records, negatives, military payment certificates, and Vietnamese money.

Papers (1882-1954, undated [bulk 1882-1920]) of U. S. Navy surgeon, including correspondence, reports, and miscellany.

Records (1966-2006, undated) documenting the activities of the League of Women Voters of Pitt County, North Carolina, a women's political organization, including historical materials, board of trustees files, publications, clippings, research files, membership files, financial records, scrapbooks, oversized materials, correspondence, annual reports, photographic prints and slides, bylaws, and position statements.

Papers (1859-1928) including correspondence, receipts, oath of allegiance, etc. relating primarily to the Civil War and local conditions.

This collection contains the administrative records for the School of Communication including syllabi, faculty meeting minutes, annual reports, unit codes, and printed materials such as announcements, brochures, and publications.

Official transcript of a U.S. Navy Captain's Court-Martial proceedings (1927), photographs, letters, and poetry, along with two scrapbooks (1900-1950) maintained by Capt. Franklin D. Karns's wife, Mrs. Helen Wallace Chew Karns.
