Papers of the Historic Halifax Garden Association include official documents (1975-1999) such as the constitution and by-laws, papers regarding tax-exempt status and a photocopy of the check handing over the remaining assets of the association to the Historical Halifax Restoration Association; two secretarial notebooks (1981-1989); a guestbook used at the opening of the Restored Eagle Tavern in Historic Halifax (June 29, 1981) and records belonging to past president Gwen B. Dickens (1975, 1979-1989) such as orders of business, attendance records, membership dues records, correspondence and material related to projects.

This collection contains documents (1821-1994, bulk 1860s-1910s) related to the Newsom family, especially Marion Eaton Newsom, of Littleton, Warren and Halifax Counties, North Carolina. Included are correspondence, land records, legal records, financial papers, and a family history written by Marion E. Newsom (1909, addendum 1911) about the Newsom and Nicholson families. Some material also relates to the Whitaker and Heptinstall families. A large part of this collection also documents the history of Littleton and institutions there such as schools, churches, and Littleton Female College.

Correspondence (1894-1966, bulk 1931-1946) between Irving Sherwood Preston and his fiancée (later his wife) Alice Ann Moore of Concord, North Carolina. Preston and Moore married on June 9, 1933. During the bulk of this correspondence, Preston was attending Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia (1931-1933) and serving (1943-1945) in the military during World War II. Also included are letters from family, friends, and associates, especially the earlier letters. Letters written by Preston to his family prior to 1933 document his life at Mount Pleasant Military Collegiate Institute at Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. Other early letters are between Preston's parents (Sherwood Craig Preston and Ida Lillian MacKelvie) prior to their marriage. There are a few photographs and negatives and some ephemera such as a theater broadsheet for "The College Flapper" being produced at the Kannapolis HIgh School Building in Kannapolis, North Carolina, and sponsored by the Kannapolis Woman's Club.

This collection contains copies of East Magazine, which is published quarterly and showcases the accomplishments of faculty, staff, and alumni of East Carolina University.

Papers (1833-1920) consisting of correspondence, legal records of transfer of land, miscellaneous certificates and financial papers.

Papers of George Core (1960-1997 [Bulk: 1960-1983]) documenting the life and literary career of the American historian, literary critic, and editor relating to his life and career as editor of The Sewanee Review, 1973-2016, including holographs, typescripts and other manuscript materials; photographic prints; loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including correspondence with Donald Davidson, Stuart Wright and Durrett Wagner of Swallowtail Press; a photograph of George Core at The Sewanee Review; a note about Andrew Lytle's work The Hero With The Private Parts; and materials relating to books he reviewed, including Any Cold Jordan and Camping Out.

This collection contains records of the School of Hospitality Leadership.

Papers (1944-1954) of U.S. Navy enlisted man, including copies of newsletter, correspondence, photographs, clippings, etc, some of which pertain to the USS Timbalier (AVP 54) and USS Tarazed (AF13).

Collection (1942-2005) of materials belonging to Wray Raphael Herring, a member of the U.S. Navy B-1 Band which was the first all-African American Navy Band during World War II. Included are programs, clippings, sound recordings, yearbooks, concert programs, poems, and sheet music.

This collection contains publications, SACS documents including self-studies, departmental faculty meeting minutes, annual reports, student work, and policy documents from the Department of English.

Diary written by Edward L. Williams, while serving in the United States Marine Corps, describing his voyage, aboard the USS Alaska, to the European Station under the command of Captain Samuel "Powhatan" and under the direct supervision of Captain W. R. Brown, including their cruise along the Italian coast , frequent port calls, shipboard life, behavior of sailors, and his friendships and acquaintances among the ship's crew.
