Papers (April 1942 – April 1943, undated) consisting mainly of photographic prints originally belonging to a photograph album compiled by David Y. Taylor, documenting progress on several troubled U.S. Navy construction project contracts to build shipyards and ship repair facilities in the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia; including contracts awarded to Charleston Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, the Clifford F. MacEvoy Company, the Savannah Machine & Foundry Company, and to its Shipbuilding Division; including projects to construct plant facilities, dry docks and floating dry docks, caissons, retaining walls, coffer dams, graving docks, piers, wharfs, pilings, and bulkheads, etc.; the photographs also show work crews, including racially integrated crews, and equipment, including: railroads, docks, buildings, trucks, cranes, and pile drivers; also including the leather-bound front cover of the original photograph album.

The collection includes newspaper clippings, correspondence and supporting documentation about Dennis H. Cookes short tenure as president of East Carolina Teachers College.

Minutes, programs, correspondence, journals, reprints, reports, posters, and miscellaneous records (1902-2016) documenting the North Carolina Academy of Science.

Papers (1834-2006) including correspondence, land records, Bible records, genealogy notes, cemetery stone listings, and miscellaneous related to the Carpenter, Gay, and Hamner families of Albemarle County, Virginia.

Collection (1839-1976) including correspondence, receipts, legal papers, poems, military orders, list of patients, etc., related to Nash and Franklin counties, North Carolina, and a scrapbook tracing the activities of Miss Minnie B. Parker as a nurse for the American Expeditionary Force in France, during World War I (1918-1920).

This collection (1961-1999) contains reports, publication issues, newsletter issues, memos, statements, press releases, and a policy guide received by Carroll Webber during his time as a member and as president of the Pitt/Greenville Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina. Also included are the first four issues of the ACLU "Stand" Magazine (2014-2015).

The Gerda Nischan Papers contains letters (1930, 1946-1947), handwritten in German between Otto Baumann and his wife, Barbara Hock, all but one written during the time Baumann was a German soldier in a French prisoner of war camp, 1946-1947, and typescripts in English by Baumann's daughter, Gerda Nischa, including an explanation of the letters, and 7 poems inspired by the letters. In 2010 Gerda Nischan wrote a book based on the letters titled Briefe an einen Kriegsgefangenen, an English translation written in 2014 (Letters to a Prisoner of War), and a novel in German (2013) called Dieses neue Leben which are included in these papers.

Collection contains material related to the tenure of Richard R. Eakin as chancellor of East Carolina University. Material types include correspondence, reports, publications, and memorabilia.

The collection also contains photographic prints, circa 1925, depicting Greenville, North Carolina, local businesses, street scenes, and other unidentified locations that appear to have been used as reference material during the preparation of the publication.
