Papers of Mary Lee Settle (1956-1986 [Bulk: 1980-1984]) documenting the life and career of the popular Charleston, West Virginia-born American novelist, actress, and educator at Bard College, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the University of Virginia; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volumes by Settle including All the Brave Promises (1966), The Killing Ground (1980), O Beulah Land (1956), The Scapegoat (1980), and Water World (1984), containing advertising letters, a biographical sketch of Settle by George Garrett, and Settle's letters to Stuart Wright, etc.

The collection includes photographs, correspondence, booklets, and other mixed materials from Dr. Andrew Best's military service, medical career, civic work, and personal life.

Papers of U.S. Navy officer, USNA class of 1941, including squadron history for Air Force Bombing Squadron Ten (1944-1945); reports on "Operation High Jump," manpower, and command leadership; and a chart.

The WVOT (Radio Station: Wilson, N.C.) Collection is a scrapbook (1947-1948) containing identified photographs and newspaper clippings documenting the organization and early development of a private radio station in Wilson, N.C. At the time, Wilson was well-known for its tobacco warehouses. The photographs depict the station's founders and special events involving the radio station as well as views of Wilson and its tobacco warehouses and business district.

Papers (1904-1934, 1945) consisting of copies of letters, telegrams, newspaper clippings, programs, decorating house, fashion, letters, strikes by workers, exchange rates.

This collection contains the records (1873-2010) of the fraternal secret society Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge, Domain of North Carolina. Records include biennial and annual reports of local lodges, the Records of Proceedings for the annual sessions of the Grand Lodge, financial records, minute book, constitutions and bylaws, publications and items such as the 1909 Pythian Service Book.

Collection consists of copies of the Mellette Family History, and a History of Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge, No. 304.

This collection includes 108 Chatham County, North Carolina, warrants (1804-1840); 2 Onslow County, North Carolina, grants (1788, no date); and 1897 financial receipt with 4 handwritten medicinal cures by Wyley M. Cates of Teer and Alamance County, NC, and print ads for his cures.

Imperial folio sheets, pasted on linen backing (probably in 18th century) with some insect damage and repairs, and some loss of information. Framed dimensions: 50-1/4" x 62-1/2". Scale: 1" = 5 miles. Papers of Allen Tate (1927-1996, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted American poet, biographer, editor, essayist, novelist and educator, including manuscripts, proofs of published materials, printed materials & ephemera, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, oversized materials, by or about Allen Tate, Ellen Glasgow, John Crowe Ransom, Peter Hillsman Taylor, Robert Penn Warren, Eudora Welty, and others; in English and Latin language.

Papers (1947-1960) including correspondence, references concern Bible, auditing of books, school events, receipts, pilgrims, and miscellaneous.

This collection contains a logbook (1891-1929) kept by William Hadlock Gooding (b. June 1, 1856, d. September 7, 1936), the purser for the barkentine Olive Thurlow. During this time, Olive Thurlow, which operated out of Philadelphia, travelled to New York, Boston, Savannah, Washington, Port Royal, Barbadoes, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo. Other entries in the logbook refer to the settling of accounts in Boston by Gooding for his time with the bark Grace Deering (1901-1902); and accounts (1906-1909, 1925-1929) related to his life in Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine.

Papers (1817-1902) consisting of deeds, receipts, clipping, account book, tintype, and a transfer of land related to Lenoir Co., North Carolina.

Major General Charles Justin Bailey was born at Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, on June 21, 1859. He commanded the 81st Infantry Division, American Expeditionary Forces, fighting in France during 1918 and 1919. Bailey compiled this album during 1918 and 1919 and it contains postcards of French and German towns and provinces; a few letters; photographs of France and the 81st Division including behind the lines scenes, Camp Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, and identified officers and dignitaries; clippings and ephemera; and eight large color fold-out maps. The strength of the collection is its representation of World War I in France.
