U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Arch F. Seabrook Papers consists of one photograph that features the officers of USS Liddle (APD-60) in the Leyte Gulf.

Collection (1902-2003) of genealogical and historical research files compiled by John Henry Oden III. Also includes the R. C. Chadwick Mercantile Records, Claude F. Pilley Papers, and the Windley Family Papers. Consists mostly of copies of wills, tax records, letters, deeds, newspapers, birth certificates, family trees, and photographs related to families in Beaufort, Washington, Hyde, and Halifax counties, N.C.

Papers of William Styron (1930-2007, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Newport News, Virginia-born American novelist and essayist, including correspondence; manuscripts, photographic prints, proofs of published materials, printed material, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized materials, by or about William Styron, Malcom Cowley, James Jones, Eugene Genovese, and others.

The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.

Unpublished autobiography and personal papers of Rear Admiral Lucius W. Johnson (1882-1968), a distinguished Navy surgeon, who was awarded the Navy Cross for his relief efforts in the Dominican Republic during Dictator Rafael Trujillo's reign, coordinated construction of the National Naval Medical Center outside of Washington, D.C., oversaw the development of Naval Mobile Base Hospital No. 1 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and is credited with introducing the Daiquiri to America. Included besides the 400-page autobiography are scrapbooks detailing the planning and construction of the medical center; a report on the construction of the mobile hospital which includes photographs; three binders containing over two hundred pamphlets, off prints, and clippings of Johnson's published articles; military orders; and his official Navy portrait.

Papers of John Ciardi (1820-1991 [Bulk: 1947-1991], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Boston, Massachusetts-born American poet, translator, etymologist, and editor, consisting of correspondence, manuscript materials, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, proofs of published works, audio recordings, and printed materials, by or about John Ciardi, Elio Vittorini, Harry Crews, George Braziller, and others; in English, Italian & Latin language.

Papers of Reynolds Price (1853-1986 [Bulk: 1978-1986]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Macon, North Carolina-born American poet, novelist, dramatist, essayist, and educator at Duke University; consisting of manuscripts, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating mainly to his publications A Common Room (1954), Mustian (1983), Private Contentment (1984), and to Reynolds Price: A Bibliography, 1949-1984 (1986), compiled by Stuart Wright; also photographic prints; proofs of works Price reviewed for publishers; and printed materials and oversized materials.

Records (May 1940-November 1945) include mainly correspondence between Thomas William Linder of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his girlfriend (later wife) Evelyn Doris Hill of Cayce, South Carolina. Mr. Linder worked for the railroad and later in life was an engineer with Amtrak. The letters from April 1942 through August 1945 document his service in the U.S. Army with the 816th Engineer Aviation Battalion during World War II. He was promoted to corporal in September 1942. Other items include two photographs, holiday cards, a pay stub and a poem.

Papers (1780-1969; bulk 1808-1924) including correspondence, land records, legal papers, financial papers, ledgers, etc., of two prominent Eastern North Carolina families--Grimes and Bryan--related through marriage. Other material concerns the Wharton and Conrad families of Clemmonsville, North Carolina, in Davidson County, who are also related by marriage to the Grimes family.

This collection (1966-2011) consists of papers, ephemera, and printed oversize materials related to Democratic and Republican party politics in North Carolina that document elections and Chester Julian (C.J.) Hyatt's involvement in politics. There is also material related to George C. Wallace's campaign for president in 1968, 1972, and 1976. Hyatt was state chairman for Wallace's run in 1976.

This genealogy collection includes photocopied details on over 50 families in or around Beaufort County, North Carolina, including, but not limited to, family crests, biographies, Official First Families of North Carolina memberships and applications for membership (OFFNC), wills, land deeds, cemetery location information, family newsletters, pedigree charts, birth and death certificates, marriage licenses/deeds, census data, descendant lists, and photographs. Much information can be found for the Blount, Bowen, Bryan, Clark, Godley, Hunter, Little, and Galloway family lines. Extensive information can be found for the Hardy/Hardee and Ross family lines.
