This collection contains the records of the former ECU News Bureau, including press releases, newspaper clippings, sound recordings of programming, and information about East Carolina gaining university status.

Papers (1819-1820, 1887-1907, 1950) including correspondence, travel journal, grade sheets, picture post cards, tobacco receipts, school attendance book, autograph book and miscellaneous related to the Randolph family in Halifax County, N.C. The travel journal (1819-1820) documents a journey by foot from Norfolk, Va., to Alabama. Ledger books (1912-1930) document accounts for the Randolph Store Co. in Enfield, N.C. .

Collection (1936-1985, undated) of programs (the majority published by Playbill), librettos and souvenir pamphlets documenting plays, theatrical dance and musical productions performed in New York City and Stockholm. The publications are printed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish languages.

This collection contains copies of East Magazine, which is published quarterly and showcases the accomplishments of faculty, staff, and alumni of East Carolina University.

Papers of William Styron (1930-2007, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Newport News, Virginia-born American novelist and essayist, including correspondence; manuscripts, photographic prints, proofs of published materials, printed material, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized materials, by or about William Styron, Malcom Cowley, James Jones, Eugene Genovese, and others.

Papers (1934-1969) of N.C. State Senator and U.S. District Court Judge John Davis Larkins, Jr., including correspondence, speeches, judge's notes, case files, clippings, photographs, leaflets, scrapbooks, concerns of state fishery industry, information of osteopathic profession, etc.

The John W. Warner Papers (1947-1986) document the career of filmmaker and entrepreneur John W. Warner, with a primary focus on the creation, financing, distribution, and later rediscovery of the independent film Pitch A Boogie Woogie. Dating chiefly from 1946 to 1958, with additional materials from 1986, the collection includes correspondence, legal and financial records, promotional materials, memorabilia, scripts, photographs, and audiovisual media that illuminate the business and creative challenges of independent filmmaking in the mid twentieth century. Supplementary materials reflect Warner's broader professional activities in North Carolina, including television production and local theater operations. Together, the papers provide insight into regional film production, film exhibition and promotion, and the processes through which a largely forgotten work was reclaimed and recontextualized by scholars and the public decades later.

Included are eighteen photographs of American Expeditionary Force troops in athletic competition possibly taken at Andernach, Germany, in 1919. The photographs range in size roughly from 4" x 6 3/4" to 4 1/2" x 9" and 6 1/2" x 9", and three are duplicates taken at different light settings. Four different photographs show General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing reviewing the troops and the remainder show the troops involved in sporting events such as a sack race, tug of war, sprints, and relays. Two of the photographs bear the photographer's mark of F. A. Ritter, Andernach.

This collection contains material (1831, ca. 1910-2010) related to the Edgerton, Cox, and Pearson families who were Quaker families in the Nahunta Community in Wayne County, N.C.; Dow and Brownell families of Clovis, New Mexico, and Massachusetts; Civilian Public Service work during World War II; and the Massey family of Dudley, Wayne County, N.C., including correspondence, photographs, land deeds and publications.
