This collection consists of materials and documents (1918-1986) pertaining to the lives and military service of Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Sr. and his son, Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Jr. Most of the collection pertains to Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s military career (1937-1968), as well as his personal life and teaching career. Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s materials include official documents and correspondence from his career in the U.S. Army, personal correspondence with his wife, photographs, clippings, ephemera, and books and other published material relating to his career and life. Macon J. Moye, Sr.'s materials (1918-1966) consist of official documents, manuals, and correspondence from his service during WWI. His materials also include personal items, like contracts pertaining to his tobacco warehouse and clippings about his life and family.

Papers (1930-1990) of U.S. Navy admiral, U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1933, including correspondence, diaries, photographs, reports, orders, speeches, programs, and miscellany.

Papers of Aaron Copland (1943-2005 [Bulk: 1971-1997]) documenting the life and musical career of the iconic Brooklyn, New York-born American composer, consisting of correspondence between Stuart Wright and Copland and others relating to Copland, 1977-1997; also loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Aaron Copland; photographic prints; original art; brochures, pamphlets and periodicals relating to Aaron Copland; in English, French & Spanish language.

This collection contains the congressional files for U.S. House of Representatives member Walter B. Jones, Jr., who represented the 3rd Congressional District of North Carolina from 1995 until his death in 2019. Included are files, scrapbooks, media, and electronic files. The electronic files were created by his staff and included speeches, correspondence, articles, promotional material, notes and videos for the years 2005-2018.

Papers (1944-1945) including typescript memoir, destruction of Tokyo, transport of prisoners, disposals of unexploded bombs, combat statistics.

This collection contains about 363 cubic feet of material documenting the Congressional career of Lunsford Richardson Preyer. Mr. Preyer (January 11, 1919-April 3, 2001) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the U.S. House of Representatives for twelve years (January 1969-January 1981).

Papers (1917-1918) of Lt. William T. Clements documenting his experience with the 17th U.S. Aero Squadron, American Expeditionary Forces, during training in the U.S. and England, and service in France during World War I. Included are a diary, and a microfilm copy of his World War I photograph album.

Papers of A. R. Ammons (1954-1993, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Whiteville, North Carolina-born American poet and creative writing educator at Cornell University; consisting of correspondence, proofs of published material, printed materials and oversized materials; also including loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Stuart Wright's research on A. R. Ammons.

Papers of Madison Smartt Bell (1922-1997 [Bulk: 1957-1990], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the Nashville, Tennessee-born American novelist, including manuscript materials, proofs of published works, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, and oversized materials, relating primarily to his books Zero db and Other Stories, Barking Man, and The Washington Square Ensemble, and others.

Letters and ephemera (1926-1929) related to the life of Agnes Wadlington [Barrett], who was born in Trigg County, Kentucky in 1902, before she took a job at East Carolina Teachers College (now East Carolina University) as secretary to the president of the college. Also found with these papers are many photographs of members of the Putnam family of Murray, Kentucky. The only connection between Mrs. Barrett and the Putnam family appears to be that both she and Louise Vey Putnam Carter's husband Herbert Leland Carter both worked at East Carolina University. An 1982 engagement calendar kept by Mrs. Barrett documents her life during retirement in Greenville, North Carolina.

Papers of Jesse Stuart (1955-1977) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Riverton, Kentucky-born American school teacher, educator, short story writer, novelist, and autobiographer consisting of a typescript of My Health is Better in November (1977) and other poems; and reprints of the poem One Body (1955) and of the short story Two Worlds (1967) by Jesse Stuart.

This collection contains correspondence, publications, press releases, and administrative records related to the administration and competition of intramural and collegiate sports teams at East Carolina.

Papers (1883-1964) of the noted author Inglis Clark Fletcher of historical novels set during the 17th and 18th century in colonial North Carolina.

Records (1937-1960) including correspondence, work orders, product invoices, requisitions, receipts, advertisements, photographs, and publications.

Papers of George Core (1960-1997 [Bulk: 1960-1983]) documenting the life and literary career of the American historian, literary critic, and editor relating to his life and career as editor of The Sewanee Review, 1973-2016, including holographs, typescripts and other manuscript materials; photographic prints; loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including correspondence with Donald Davidson, Stuart Wright and Durrett Wagner of Swallowtail Press; a photograph of George Core at The Sewanee Review; a note about Andrew Lytle's work The Hero With The Private Parts; and materials relating to books he reviewed, including Any Cold Jordan and Camping Out.
