Papers (1889, 1907-1958) consisting of correspondence, diaries, yearbooks, scrapbook, songbook, typescript, travel accounts, photographs, newsletters, etc., related to attendance at Salem Academy and College (1908-1911) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and to the work (1917 to 1950) of Protestant Episcopal music missionary Venetia Cox (of Greenville, North Carolina) in China. Also includes letters and school materials related to Lo-I (or Louis) Yin who attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, from 1949 to 1951 on a scholarship related to Venetia Cox's music missionary work with Huachung University, Wuchang, Hupeh, China.

This collection primarily contains newspaper articles from The Daily Reflector about East Carolina University's Division of Health Sciences and ECU Health's (previously Vidant Medical Center) interaction with the larger community.

Collection contains a newspaper clipping (6/10/1923) entitled "Christian Church Growth in 20 Years Proud Record, Dedication Services Sunday" from the Greenville, North Carolina, Daily Reflector.

Marine Corps aviation officer (Major Gen.) who served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and who retired as commander of the Cherry Point, NC Marine Air Station, including correspondence, reports, war diaries, citations, certificates, and military records. This collection features oral history interviews conducted in 2011 with twelve members of the Latino community of eastern North Carolina who occupy positions ranging from recognized leadership to informal influence in the lives of Latino youth. Their occupational backgrounds are varied including professional, entrepreneurial, technical and working class trades. The interviewers were Dr. Ricardo Contreras and Dr. David Griffith of the Anthropology Department at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Frank Stephenson Jr. for research use while writing numerous historical publications and to make the items available for other researchers to utilize. This collection contains Mary Stephenson Hammel's items from her time as a student at East Carolina which are her diploma, publication award for her work on the yearbook, and letter patch for her participation in the Women's Athletic Association. Additionally, there is a 2005 photograph of Mary and a copy of the Alumni Association's booklet made for the class of 1955's Golden Alumni event.
