The collection consists of a letter (1/8/1863) containing a description of Brig. Gen. John G. Foster's expedition from New Bern to Kinston and Goldsboro NC and back, 11-20 December 1862, including accounts of engagements at Kinston (14 Dec.), Whitehall (16 Dec.) and Goldsboro Bridge (17 Dec.), from George [?], a soldier in Company B of the 5th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, to his Aunt Maria. Other items include a draft report (12/22/1862) by Colonel Charles R. Codman, 45th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment (Cadet Regiment), of engagements at Kinston and White Hall, NC, (12/14 through 12/16/1862), and items related to Colonel Codman.
This collection consists of four minute books of the Old Sparta Primitive Baptist Church, Edgecombe County, North Carolina, for the period of 1899 through 1998.

Marie Curie, and to his family life. Major topics documented are the Wright Brothers' 1911 flights at Kitty Hawk, N.C., and a visit by Mme. Curie to the United States in 1929 to receive a gift of one gram of radium for use in scientific research.
This candid and detailed World War I diary (April 25, 1918-March 12, 1919) was kept by Carl Whittlesey of Barton County, MO, during his service with the 313 Engineers 88th Division. He kept detailed entries regarding his training at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, his participation in the Alsace Campaign in France, and his involvement in developing the war ravaged areas in Europe.
